Until the mid 1990s, singers had to actually sing. Which is why if you watch bands from the early 1990s and before, they sound the same live as they do on records. That’s not 100%. Milli Vanilli lip synced to prerecorded vocals. (But the guys who actually sang those songs sounded great live) The same producer, Frank Farian, created another group called Boney M; in the 1970s. None of the people in that band sung on the record. They did lip synced performances with a ton of back up singers who were actually singing. Boney M never had their record skip, so the general public had no idea that they weren’t really singing. And they were a German group. Europeans aren’t as upset about lip syncing as Americans are.

Again, there is no reason for me to mention Elvis, Prince, or any other “legend” because they are NOT spotlighted in the aforesaid clip. But more importantly, my comment didn’t warrant an imbecilic response from you. Now get lost, weirdo.*
My brothers and I had all of their Christmas albums in the 70's. We watched their cartoons, too! Good Times!! Love the Jacksons live performances. They stepped up to the plate EVERY time! ♥ Michael, you were too beautiful for this world.

Now this IS impressive- a truly LIVE PERFORMANCE- no faking it with lip syncing- playing singing and dancing. Few of the current crop of pop "stars" would dare attempt this on a live broadcast. The Jackson 5 really were incredibly talented, it wasn't all about Michael- incredible though he was- the brothers were real stars with genuine talent in their own right.
That's not marketing. That's talent.
SOMETHING SO GREAT ABOUT THE MUSIC WHEN ITS LIVE AND NO LUPSYNCING. NEVER SAW THIS BUT WHO EVER UPLOADED THIS THANKYOU.

Michael was so young doing this, no wonder he was tired just age 4. 😮 He was a genuis talent. Miss him. I grew up in the 70's and have been a Jackson fan ever since. 🎤
Young Randy on drums was amazing. Love their outfits. MJ is so musical super talented vocally and in his dancing skills. Credit to Joe Jackson in abundance for making it all happen.❤️

The Jackson 5 were already huge by the time of this particular appearance on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson in April of 1974. They had already had most of their biggest hits by the time of this appearance. Michael at the time of this particular show was was 15. Michael was 11 when they had their first hit, I Want You Back in late 1969.

Look Young’uns: NO wigs, NO fake eyelashes, NO fake fingernails, NO plastic surgery, NO distractive lights & NO voice tuners! A pinnacle of music that will never be matched.

Man MIKE was just BAD ASS with those moves! I loved their voices together!
The Camara man had only one job, capture Michael Jackson doing the robot, but he has the lens on Randy.
Let's begin with the Beatles song "Let it Be ". The brothers were in perfect synchronization and harmony. And Michael's lead vocals sounded like the angel that he is. Moving on to the interview, Jackie stated that Michael had been performing since he was 4 years old. So if anyone is wondering why he was so talented, he was born with the gifts that God gave him and he worked his tail off to perfect his talents just to please us! Michael was only 15 years old when this show aired and he had already been nominated for an Academy Award for the song "Ben". And just in case you missed it, the brothers had just performed for an audience of 100,000 people in Africa a month prior to this show. None of us knew that 5 years after this performance, in 1979, Michael would release his "Off the Wall 🧱 " album and he would become the greatest entertainer this world will ever see! I'm the same age as Michael so I grew up loving Michael's unbelievable talents! Thanks for being the soundtrack of my life Michael. I still don't go a single day without listening to your music and I never will stop listening! Thanks for giving us everything you could give us, thanks for your hard work and dedication to your craft! R.I.P my brother! 🙏🏾💙
