@@dutdut2.059 nah I think he played a bit at first but it wasn’t his main position he played mostly at second and short but got moved to second because of peewee Reese

@@dutdut2.059 He was initially a first baseman his rookie season because the Dodgers already had an established 2nd baseman in Eddie Stanky who was also their lead-off hitter at the time. The following off season, the Dodgers traded Stanky but I can’t remember to what team it it was.

Watching this in slow mo, the catcher had his mitt hanging over home plate, as soon as Robinson slid onto the plate, the catcher drops his hand down and touches Robinson, so while it seems almost simultaneous, the catcher basically waited for Robinson to slide home before touching him, so he was safe. Good ass Umpire call for the time tbh
