Very, very good as usual. Loads of intriguing information. Sad story of his offspring perishing in the BG Tube Disaster, a terrible loss of life, it must have been a living hell that night in the streets below Bethnal Green, scores of folks killed, many poor wee children aswell, so so sad

The Five is an atrocious book that has numerous, 'quotes' without references, numerous unfounded statements, and worst of all contradictions where it is stated the Five were not prostitutes, then says they were prostitutes! One of the most exploitative books on the Ripper victims ever written. It should never have been written.

Its just a complete neo uber pc, woke, feminist, self loathing for being white middle class, transgender obsessed culture we are living in or actualy rather having force fed, shoved down our throats at every given opportunity that's going on right now. I was just wondering how long it would take for it to reach the JtR subject! They already are altering and falsifying history turning it into fiction in so many other areas to fit in with this pc, woke falsified view of the world. They are making films and tv programmes based on historical periods or events with black people in the roles they simply were not in or women in roles they wouldn't have been in either. Even If it is purely fictional it is still cringeworthy but they are actualy claiming these are based on real historical events. They are presenting it to children and not bothering to tell them that this was not in fact accurate. It's a disgrace! They even have black vikings etc. I wonder how these racialy obsessed nutcases would feel about having a white actor play Martin Luther King or having the odd few white actors dotted around supposed to be working in the cotton fields on a tv drama based on the slave plantations in the American South. Showing the slaves and what their lives were like & some of the characters are white and even having the master played by a black woman.... so having the JtR victims portrayed as if they were not prostitutes is pretty much an obvious one. Its just utterly ridiculous! If you don't like actual history the way it REALLY was then TOUGH! Don't study it or go near it. Stay in your fantasy make believe world of today!

You can't beat historians that research their stuff.. One of the best things 9n KZread this although I don't think the appetites there for this kind of stuff these days it's a sign of the Times. Long way east from Whitechapel, seems a bit of a stretch to me. Edit: Wow, they used to routinely walk a long way back then.... still, the center of gravity of Lechmere was further west so this still seems a stretch. Edit to the edit: This episode really hammers home just how much the met wanted this whole thing to go away. So even if this case was not JTR how many others would the met tried to bury away. Very interesting. How many edits? All of them. Pickfords next door? You have got to be kidding... and the over-arching point that this case calls in to question so much that was written down by ex members of the police in the memoirs is... fascinating.

Something about charles cross that makes me suspect even more than ever. When polly Nichols was covered up, if cross had spooked the ripper, he wouldn't have cared to cover up the injuries. But cross would've bc he stayed behind. Just food for thought.

I don't think cross actually covered up Nicholas' injuries, the injuries to her abdomen weren't noticed until her body was taken to the mortuary Dr Lewellyn had to return for a second time to inspect them.

Any old diaries kept by any of the Lechmere family? That would be interesting to look at for sure. I have always said that if any employment records still exist from Pickfords then the omission of Lechmere/Cross would be very significant. Also it is so frustrating that Charles Cross and the 1876 incident may have been someone else entirely but we are likely to never ever know.

For me the moment when they time the walk and find that Lechmere is lying about when he would come across Polly Nicholls . Giving a 7 or 8 minute gap on the presumption he was not lying when he left his house . He would need to have left 10 minutes earlier to get to work on time , giving him a near 20 minute window to have been on the scene . No blood seen by paul .After Lechmere drew attention to the body , he then wont move it and paul thinks he can detect shallow breathing Totally bizarre , you either care for the woman and move her or you a creating a pretence . The mis-steps go on with lechmere half-truth after half-truth . A policeman wants you ! to another cop , he knows the rounds and that the body will have been found . Ducks the inquest till he is named . Then plays on Cross as I,m in your fold coppers .. He deffo was jack , unfortunately time has erased hopes of proving that other than circumstantial . I am 100 its lechmere

@@gppgpz I agree with you and am bewildered by the “Poor Lechmere” crowd. Rather than consider Lechmere as suspicious, they bemoan that he is just a good ol Englishman working hard for his family and they feel sorry that his name is being dragged through the mud. One even felt sorry for the family having to go through all this. It started with a member of the family asking Edward Stow to look into the matter in the first place! I asked one such person if they also felt bad for the other 300 plus suspects whose names were also dragged through the mud and if they cared about their families as well. They were at a loss at how to respond. Edit: If Lechmere is indeed JTR, I’m pretty sure he would have left early from home to scope out the situation. It’s been suggested, and I agree, that he allowed them to lead him to dark corners to do the deed and simply killed them there. In those initial moments, it wouldn’t matter who noticed him since he would simply be a guy walking along with a sex worker. A regular sight.

@@TiaMargarita Those types who are "at a loss at how to respond" are only trying to protect their financial interests! It is so obvious to me because they act like woke left wing idiots who are offended by everything but secretly they don't want to upset the apple cart in the Ripper business. All this feeling sorry is just a smoke screen for their real motive.
