@@0-MACMAC-0 probably wind the chain up in a ball or break the hub itself. You’d definitely have to be gentle with it.

I always have to ask why people don't do it that way more it works a lot better if you can use the gears.

It actually doesn't, they suck ballz. Not enough torque to efficiently use gears and you still have all that driving through a bicycle chain.

because it's a really difficult build, with a lot of things not quite fitting properly and guess work, trial and error. more things to go wrong...

@@audieallen9734 I always wondered the same thing, why couldn’t a standard gear change system work with a motor. I guess it can if you take it easy shifting like backing off the throttling during gear changes. Your right though, lots of test fitting and modifications but once I get a welder I’m going to start messing around with building some stuff. Like putting a 670 Vtwin industrial motor in a YZ,KX,CR,RM 250 chassis. Or a trail buggy, again with gears. ✌️🇺🇸

I bought one off marketplace that has that kit. I have seen some people that pulled it off but most people are against it because of the thin chain and the derailleur being weak.

Good night. It would be great if we had these two engine mounts that hold the shaft that transfers the force to the other side. Like, they contoured on some A4 sheets, each support on a sheet, for pdf so we can make our own supports. Think about the partner idea. It would help us a lot in the shaft adaptation process. Thanks for the attention.

What size sprocket are you running?

@@MrJasenstewart97 I replaced rear sprocket. From 44T to 36T. More top speed .legs will be low speed 0-10mph. 32T available. Won't be street legal any faster. People doing 50 probably have jackshaft on it.

I'm wanting to build a motorized bicycle and the one I'm looking at has a planetary gearset in the hub. Really all I'd need to make it work is a jackshaft and then just use the crankset as a footrest lol.

I'm so doing this to my mountain bike I just started laughing when he was dropping gears 😂

You gotta change out that stock exhaust for a better system like a chamber and muffler set to increase power! You already got the cnc high compression head so that is by far way better than a stock

Usually a size 415 chain comes with that motor.

but what is that front chainring? how it has freewheel? huh?

I know I'm 3 years late to this party but that thicker chain looks like it needed a tensioner. I'm making something similar to this setup but using an electric hub motor. Flopping chains are inviting disaster.

Is that shift kit from sickbikeparts? My seat tube is 1.250" ...they sent me 1.125" clamps. They told me that's correct. There is no way to get those clamps on without damaging the paint and/or the seat tube. Square peg, round hole.

@@johngilbert396 Those u-bolt style clamps, did they fit perfectly to the seat tube or are they technically too small? My seat tube is 1.250" diameter but they sickbikeparts tells me that I'm supposed to use a 1.125" clamp on it. I don't see how that's correct.

Was the point of this is to get the most speed, if so cant you just use a smaller sprocket instead of the one it comes with that goes on the other side and wouldn't have to add extra weight? Or does it make a difference with both gear shifts that I don't know about.

Something like this would optimize engine's torque range for each gear so you can control if you want more power for acceleration and going up hills easier or more power for more top speed on flat ground. With only one gear, you'll have to settle for in between which won't be the best at both.

A good expansion chamber would do wonders for you

Get the sick bike parts hd kit heavy duty and their chain will work personally I don’t need gears some of mine hit 40 with a 44t sprocket with only mild port work just cleaning them up good and setting carb correctly running right ratio 32:1 not40:1 and going 45 is so easy just an arbeo carb and again mild work mild mods can go 50 with a 38t but a 44t is 45 plus climbs hills takes off dead start

I wonder can you do that with a 212 predator engine🤔 I would make into a 4 speed

Even got the sick bike.parts tensioner I brought separate and everything still just goes belly up. To the point its un rideable..
