Jack S. Kilby, Nobel Prize in Physics 2000: Nobel Prize lecture

Jack S. Kilby held his Nobel Prize lecture on 8 December 2000, at Aula Magna, Stockholm University. He was presented by Professor Stig Hagström.

    As a former electronics engineer, I instantly recognize the name Jack Kilby from Texas Instrument. He is a pioneer founder of the Integrated circuit revolution.

    A great example of what happens when you mix curiosity, tenacity, patience, and time to think! And once again we find ham radio as an early catalyst. I hope many aspiring engineers consider the common threads found in inventor stories.

    My mother was one of Jacks lab techs, starting in 1960-1969.

    There is an error in the description section. The transistor was invented on December 23, 1947; not 1956 as in your description text.
