Saying that Christopher Reeve became nice after his accident is an awful thing to say and completely untrue.

Interesting interview and I like him talking without hesitation. He's right, there will never be another superman like Christopher Reeve. I still got the old poster I got from the Theater's wall (long story how I got it) 😄 Love this interview. Thanks!

This was another great interview! It's crazy to think how long Christopher Reeve's has been gone. You can tell Jack had an incredible amount of respect for him. It was good he had this opportunity to clarify that it was one small moment between them and they were still friends afterwards. Thank you so much for sharing this!

Jack O' Halloran... a man with a boxing record of 34 wins and 21 losses. 21 losses!!! Jack, you were not a great boxer or actor or anything. and here you are judging a great man in Christopher Reeve and blaming his accident on his ego. Its only because of Reeve and the movie Superman that people know who you are.

At the age of 14 in 1981, the P E teachers at my high school, offered us pupils various choices for our school sporting activities durung the next two years, but while some of these were free, others weren't. I desperately wanted to give the horseriding lessons a go, but my parents couldn't afford to pay for them, so I reluctantly chose swimming instead because that was free. I remember feeling very dusappointed at the time. Then years later, (after hearing about Christopher Reeve's tragic and shocking accident) I realised what a very lucky escape I must have had, as the same thing could easily have happened to me. Horseriding and showjumping are obviously VERY dangerous sports and after hearing about Christopher Reeve's terrible injuries, it frightened the life out of me and to this day, I've NEVER gone within fifty feet of one since. Incidentally, Jack O'Halloran still seems to have a lot of bitter resentment towards Reeve and that he is basically speaking ill of the dead. I feel very strongly that this is disrespectful to his memory. All he really had to say when questioned about this, was that he had a one off disagreement with him, but that he didn't want to criticise a dead man and left it at that, because Reeve is no longer here to answer back and defend himself. Also, if O'Halloran was clearly wrong about whether Reeve wore a helmet and padding during his tragic accident, it does make me wonder if he was deliberately being misleading about other details in the interview, too. That's my take on it, anyway. Others here may have different opinions. Either way, this interview you had with him was very informative and it certainly has enlightened me about O'Halloran's nasty and vindictive character in real life. Thanks for posting this, Chris. Well done.

Another great interview! So tragic what happened with Christopher Reeves and people are people (famous or not) and will always have normal altercations. The media always has a “story to sell” and they take things out of context! Enjoyed listening to this and hearing from someone who worked directly with Reeves.

Very interesting to hear this story I never had heard it before. I loved the part about not hitting him in the face, that made me laugh. Still seemed like there was still some resentment from Jack. He tried to keep things professional- but he did take a couple shots at Chris during the interview.

Chris Contra - thanks for posting. I read about an altercation in IMDb; I thought it was a false rumor. Then after hearing this, Jack says it's true. I don't know about you, but a person can't just slam someone against a wall and throw them down on the floor, regardless of how much said person goes berserk. What Jack did was assault and battery. If I did that because a guy verbally bashed my dad, and made a scene, and I slammed that guy to the floor, I would get sued. Also, there are 2 sides to every story. I heard Jack's side. I haven't heard Reeve's. And I know we never will (RIP Mr. Reeve). Anyway, I've never heard of any negative criticisms about Christopher Reeve, except from Jack O"Halloran. Everyone says that Chris Reeve was an awesome guy. So, what does that tell you about Jack's credibility? Add to that the fact that he was wrong about the helmet. Chris WAS wearing a helmet. Lastly, I still do have respect for Jack because he played a very strong and scary villain--he ranks up there with General Zod, Darth Vader, Ledger's Joker. I wish Jack would’ve taken on more roles. And just like what everyone says, I agree that Chris Reeve is the BEST Superman ever. Superman 2 and The Dark Knight are my 2 favorite superhero movies of all time. (Sorry, even though Avengers 1 and Ave End Game were phenomenal movies, Supes 2 and TDK will always be my Top 2). Thanks again Mr. Contra!

Sounds like an old mean grudge told in a "kind" way. Or maybe he's just telling the truth (or his truth) without any restrain. But the whole comments on the accident are disrespectful, you never know what really caused the accident and I doubt that an helmet would stop the shock on the spine, it just protects the skull. Anyway it's very low to say that even if he means it.
