I'm 62. In 2019 at an end of school year barbeque, I beat the fastest middle school student in a race from one soccer field goalpost to the other and back. I run and maintain heavy equipment that I own. I fall trees, skid them to my sawmill, load them and mill them solo. I cut, split and stack 8 chords of wood every year (for the past 42 years). I dance at the campfire 3-4 nights each week, 52 weeks a year even in -10F with four feet of snow on the ground. Stay engaged in life, charge at it full speed. Keep thick callouses on your hands year round. Wear out your work clothes, shred them. If you aren't growling several times a day from lifting something heavy, you aren't working hard enough. Our bodies thrive on use and a little abuse. They wither and atrophy without it.

I just turned 51 a few days ago. I am highly educated and I have done well. However only after winding up in the hospital in 2018 I started paying attention to what I eat. This Feb, i started clean healthy cooking and eating. I also started working out. I dropped 10 pounds and lost most of my belly. Eat right close to Keto as possible. Only walking 10k then 15k along with it did the trick. I am also doing excercise and lifting. However healthy proteins was the missing point for me. My muscles are not disappearing after a few days.

Sadly, many are moving into 'Senior Centers' (?). The reason , many say, is that they do not want to be burdened by 'This Old House' stuff. Once there, what do most do? Nothing, but watch TV, Eat, Watch TV, and Eat . They don't move, they just sit! My Uncle was one. I'm sure there are exceptions. JMO

Butter and lard are actually healthy
@stefancollins971
Жыл бұрын
No they are not, especially not lard. Yuck!
I am skeptical of this guy being 86. Also they said he "Entered a crossfit gym in 2006 at the age of 67" that was 17 years ago, so that would have made him 84 at the time the statement was made. But noting that this was posted 8 months ago, assuming someone changed the title and he had a birthday, he would be 85. But I don't even believe that. don't trust older people where age is concerned. There was a woman online some years back deadlifting 225 I think it was (pretty sure it was 2 plates), claiming to be 100. There was even a local news story on her. It only took me 1/2 hour to find out she was 79. Now, credit where credit is due and all of that, 225 is a LOT of weight for a 79 year old woman, even a pretty large woman like her. I can't do it now at age 70, mostly due to old injuries, or at least I would not try it. I workout with one plate (135) max. But for those familiar with the scene, just beware that there are a lot of Brad Castleberrys around, and some of the claims do not involve fake plates, but rather fake birthdates. Also as far as the invention of the kettlebell swing goes, it was included in some Alan Calvert publications from just after the turn of the 20th century.
It's like a old car you care of it you will drive it for many years.
What supplements is he taking? How was his prostate cancer treated? What did he do after the prostate cancer? How many hours a day does he workout? Thanks

This is why everyone should be doing CrossFit. I read an article today that said the adult diaper industry sales project for 2023 are $172,000,000 in the U.S. This is not meant to be funny. More and more people are requiring care at earlier ages. CrossFit works. I'm 60 and going strong and have no intensions on slowing down.
