    Finland actually did something similar one year, they had one artist (Saara Aalto) produce three different songs, but the final choice was made internally by the broadcasting company.

    Let´s hope and pray that RUV will let him be the only contestant next year in ICELAND with some songs, that the Icelandic nation can pick? Daði has said that he will not compete again in SÖNGVAKEPPNINN the Icelandic preliminary competition but He is willing to perform at Eurovision next year, there is not a problem that does not have a answer.

    I think the reason so many people resonated with this song (myself included) is how raw, authentic, and sincere is sounds/looks. You can see that Daði Freyr was nervous at the beginning, not really enjoying the moment. But then with music, you start to see smiles, joy, happiness. I think this song signifies pure, unadulturated joy and hope, and the fact that it's also presented in such a stripped down, honest way, makes it all the more powerful. I wish you guys all the best!

    en JOY Icelandic is basically old Norse, the Icelandic people are descended from Norsemen who went to colonise this new island and never returned. Since Iceland is so very isolated ( no neighbors anywhere near), the language didn't evolve like they usually do. So while Old Norse on mainland Europe evolved into modern Norwegian, Icelandic mostly just stayed Old Norse. It would be like for you and me to hear Old Dutch, you can definitely see the roots but you can't quite understand it properly.

    I am new to the Daði Freyr party but thank god I have arrived! The roof CAME OFF when he did Verka! The Eurovision 2020 winner by a country mile.     Я просто человек с хорошим слухом и минимальными,но достаточными для слушателя со слухом,знаниями о вокале.И мне странно слышать такие восхваления его голосу.Вот просто искренне говорю,без подколов.Голос чистый,но не поражает,потому что мне не хватает мощи,силы.Когда он поет выше,вообще задавливает голос,как будто бы это не очень удобный диапазон для него.Я еще весь ролик не послушала,может,он там где-то и поет низко.Стиль музыки хоть и накладывает естественным образом свои ограничения на стиль пения,но сильный голос не спрячешь.

    @@ksiusakurai2311 так в том то и смысл, что у человека низкий голос от природы, то он (голос) и будет раскрываться лучше всего на низких нотах. Сильный голос не равно высокий голос, который тянет верха,потому что от природы голоса разные у всех и чьи то верха для другого могут быть средними нотами,а для некоторых голосов и вовсе низкими. Важно то,как человек владеет голосом, использует различные вокальные украшения)

    @@harmony8484 Сильный голос просто слышен,я даже не могу определение дать (высоко-низко ни при чем).Но Вы мою мысль не поняли.Мне кажется,что он часто пел на не естественных/не удобных для него высотах,задавливая голос.Звучит чисто,но восхищения не вызывает,потому что нет силы а голосе.

    @@ksiusakurai2311 а что для вас сила в голосе? Я лично слышу богатый необычный тембр и хорошее владение. Сейчас для многих современных певцов чистый вокал - это уже достижение. Так что да, этот вокал действительно можно считать шикарным.

    @@christineu3847 Согласна про чистый вокал и редкость у нынешних псевдопевцов.И согласна,что Дави хорошо владеет своим голосом.Но он не мощный,не сильный,не впечатляет и не удивляет.Тина Кароль,та же Пелагея,Гагарина,что первое на ум приходит,Дэвин Таунсэнд (мало слушала,но то,что слышала,впечатлило в купе с музыкой).Полнота,глубина голоса - сила голоса.У Дави голос правильно используется,но в нем нет полноты,глубины и силы.Хотя и сам стиль музыки это не предполагает.Не говорю ничего плохого о нем,говорю,что его голос меня лично не впечатляет и не цепляет,он просто хороший-нормальный.
