What's interesting is that, judging by the results of various unofficial contests held around the world, had the 2020 contest not been cancelled, Iceland (represented by Daði og Gagnamagnið performing "Think about Things") probably would've won, meaning that Iceland probably would've hosted the next year. There's a timeline where this happened, but sadly, it's not this one.

@@followingthelightindarkness they did it really fast, inbetween those songs where you'll see a bumper on television, they were going with like 20-30 people on stage sweeping everything and getting the stage ready in less than 30 seconds. It was funny to see how fast they were

I liked that Italy won but the real winner this year was this guy from Iceland 🇮🇸 😂😂😂😂 I had such a hard time throughout the rest of the voting because I could not get this guy out of my head 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Nobody can beat the incredible Maneskin from Bella Italia, but this hilarious guy definitively comes in second! Great comment, and a supergreat move from the Icelandic delegation to do this, and make us all Laugh so hard!

The fact that Fire Saga and Ya Ya Ding Dong has been accepted and has become part of Eurovision is just the best thing I’ve ever seen

During the rehearsal on Friday, he first made this joke and Chantal couldn't stop laughing for a full minute. Here during the live show, you can tell she's already laughing because she knows what's to come

I think the film, "Eurovision, The Story of Fire Saga" is the best tonic when all the Covid Lockdowns restrictions get to you, it is such a joyous film. All the songs are fabulous and would WIN if the were entered, especially the new Eurovision anthem, "JaJa Ding Dong" 😉 Will Ferrell really captured the Spirit of Eurovision with this film.

@@Aviertje Well, and Finland held up that sign reading "Play Ja Ja Ding Dong!" in the semis, so that could have been responded to with a brief snippet of the above-mentioned "Ding-Dong Song" by Finnish artist Günther. ;) But I guess they wouldn't have done that... family show, after all. ^^ As the Finnish guys acknowledged themselves, with regards to the middle fingers, in one of the "thank you" spots after voting for them in the Eurovision app (which I did several times).

Maybe that was part of the plan for the ESC2020 but that one got cancelled due to covid. But in that case they have to playback because Rachel McAdams didn't sing the song in the movie, the vocals are actually performed by Swedish singer Molly Sandén, who was part of Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2006. If you are an official commentator for Eurovision, you should at least know all the major things that have happened in the Eurovision sphere since the last edition, and probably last 5 years in general. (Unless it is a pair commentary where one knows everything and the other is the newbie counterpart throwing in his fresh impressions.)
