The most underrated song writer/guitar player ever to come out of America. His guitar playing influenced the likes of Mark Knopfler and post 80s Clapton. His songs Cocaine, After Midnight, Call me the Breeze are iconic. His death is a huge loss to music.

People love his songs. He is not underrarted because guitar supremo Eric Clapton himself is his fan. He is gentle,simple, but gives great melodious songs.

Been a fan ever since I heard 'Crazy Mama' 30+years ago. Used to tout him to everyone who would listen - now at least a few people get his contribution.

Been around music all my life, and when i get jaded i just put on this to realise why i got involved.Its got to be one of the best pieces of musicianship EVER.

So gracefull...i wish Mark will continue his legasy into the 21st century. We can't afford to lose this kind of music...

Only J.J could make an instrumental sound so melancholy, It' played so well .

Absolutely Marvelous melody

So evocative. Would be great as soundtrack music for a road movie in the American Southwest, or an old Clint Eastwood Western. But it's just as good to let the music take me wherever...

Budda: In 1967 I was a nerd in school. Then I went inside to my soul and knew I'd be alright.

This gorgeous melody is an epiphany. Check out the intro solo on "After Midnight" live at Clapton's Crossroads Festival. Watch Clapton and JJ's lovely Christine Lakeland look up at heaven (my interpretation) transported by Cale's magic. It's beyond music.

Hook up your computer sound to an old bigbox tapeplayer and run the feed through the stereo and tape it. Go to wrecking yard, buy old tape dek. pay guy to install and you can have the voice of the internet on tape in the car. Old school works for me
