Back when my dad was alive, he would always play the piano in church every Sunday. And I tell you, not because I was his son, but I sincerely believed he was one of the best musicians I have ever known. The way he played the piano was super similar to the way it was played in this video. I swear since I heard this piece I couldn't help but jerk a tear since it reminded me of him. I still remember the days he would bring me to work when no one was available and he would be playing a beautiful grand piano in the middle of the gigantic hotel hall and he would let me sit next to him so I could see what he was doing. Every note he played just seemed to have a purpose, like his fingers would dance and the note would play with them. If he was still alive he would've loved this piece and would be explaining the beauty of it nonstop. I do wish I could hear his playing again and my only regret would probably be that I never bothered to learn the piano like he did because he would've loved to hear his son play just like him or even better. Though his legacy would be there since he was the one who taught me how to sing. Rest in peace dad. May the angels dance with your music like everyone did.

It takes a 4 year old 7 years to be a prodigy kid at 11, but it takes a 34 year old person the same 7 years for the same level of playing at 41. Don't give up on your dreams! This channel has been so amazing showing me so many spectacular performances and performers that I don't think I ever would have stumbled upon on my own. I honestly never thought I'd hear someone play _this_ song with more soul (or at least about as much as) than my favourite piano player ever (Ray). Don't be beaten down (pun not intended) by the ones that consider drummers "dumb." (Former drummer, concert and marching band, had to give it up due to back and wrist problems.) I was in school choirs, too; held back by the lack of singing ability. I'm not tone deaf, my voice just isn't that great. My brain could never connect the notes on the score with the tones I should produce, so I learned by ear. (Which is why I couldn't learn the other percussive instruments like marimba/vibraphone/xylophone... And why the heck are we using handbells in marching band? Oh yeah. "Edelweiss.") Learning-by-ear sucked in high school, because I was situated next to someone completely tone deaf and mostly monotonous on my right, and the entire soprano section to my left. On the plus side, Freshman year when my voice failed at the end of the Winter Holiday concert, I WAS able to sing Handel's "Hallelujah Chorus" in Soprano 1 - to the shock of my Algebra teacher's daughter standing next to me. LOL Good times...

Bobby Floyd! So great. His Hammond organ stuff awesome. Somewhere is a clip of him while on tour playing a church organ somewhere in Europe that is spectacular.
