Also alot of whiny post-Fugazi soy bands. Proto-punk like the Stooges is fundamental to metal and the best of Hardcore helped metal get back on track.

I'm 50 years old and I've been into metal since I was 12. I went to high school in Tampa, Florida at the rise of the death metal scene so I got to see all the greats Nasty Savage, Death, Obituary, Amon/Deicide, Nocturnus, Morbid Angel and I also had a fanzine Invincible Force. I really don't go to shows anymore just listen to my favorite music in my off time.

I am 45 years old, I have been listening to metal since I was 10, throughout my adolescence, my twenties and part of my thirties. For me, being a true metalhead meant not recommending "underground" bands to other metalheads. I thought that the bands that I had worked so hard to discover didn't deserve to be known, I only wore my weirdest "underground" band t-shirts at the most "underground" shows, so if I had seen your videos 15 years ago, I would have immediately thought you were an imposter for wearing those t-shirts and recommending "underground" bands. 😅 In the end you are right, nowadays if someone asks me about a strange band I share the information with them, I am too old and tired to continue thinking about who is authentic and who is not.
