Definitely a much needed win but their pitching still needs to massively improve Their hitting is still doing it what it’s suppose to but new month They’re gonna need a whole lot of these Ws as much as they can get

they need about a half-dozen relievers who can get a few outs without giving up 5 runs.. that would be nice.. of course Diaz out and Smith injured is having a big time impact right now. They need to shop for relievers now.. The starters for the most part pitch well enough to keep them in the game, Peterson was fine today.

After Diaz got suspended, he should have leaned on the starters more, but he pulled them as follows: Jun 26 Manaea pulled at 77 pitches, gave up 0 ER Jun 28 Quintana pulled at 93 pitches, gave up 2 ER Jun 30 Severino pulled after 79 pitches, gave up 4 ER Jul 1 Peterson pulled after 86 pitches, gave up 2 ER

As Garrett said, he's never been in the big leagues this long. His career: 2019 13 G 8.22 ERA 2.41 WHIP 2022 7 G 6.75 ERA 2.25 WHIP 2023 11 G 6.41 ERA 1.47 WHIP 2024 33 G 3.20 ERA 1.35 WHIP It is amazing what learning a split will do.

He throws 98 once his confidence grows he will be a good 7th inning pitcher
Reed Garrett is effective and dependable and the coaches trust him. He comes in late to clean up what could have been disastrous in Diaz abscence. As a pitcher I’d be worried if I’m not being used as often

he hasnt always been dependable. too many times he has been shaky and walks a bunch of batters. it feels 50-50 whether he is good or bad
