Red Bull Sōlus, one of the most mentally and physically challenging contests in skateboarding, is back for a third year. From the mind of Ryan Sheckler, this digital skate competition challenges 17 of the top pros and amateurs to deliver their best continuous line at Sheckler’s private skatepark, the SC Sandlot. Here is Itzel Granados’s run.
On June 6-8, each of the competing skaters were given one hour at the SC Sandlot to film their best line - no music, no other skaters, and no knowledge of who else is competing in the competition. They're just stuck with their thoughts, their time limit, and James Craig, this year's official Red Bull Sōlus timekeeper and emcee.
This competition format, combined with the new blood featured in this year’s roster, has resulted in the best Red Bull Sōlus to date.
Itzel Granados is a true street skater all the way. Her aggressive and powerful style on a skateboard is a direct reflection of the Mexico City street spots she grew up skating. Not only is she one to jump down big stairs, but she also has a few technical tricks up her sleeve - just peep the last trick in her Red Bull Sōlus entry.

Our judges, Vanessa Torres, Mike Sinclair, and Jason Rothmeyer, will evaluate each video based on style, progression and creativity.

I agree. Some other video someone was complaining about his voice being audible. They said “no reason to hear him” he needs to shut up, etc. I don’t feel it’s overbearing at all. I kinda like him help hype the skaters up

I was so emotionally invested in the smith to kickflip. Glad Itzel got it!

Jeez!! I must be PMSing I got so emotional from that. Legit shed a tear! This is what skateboarding is all about. I felt that! I wish everyone knew what it feels like to work on a difficult trick and get it. That feeling is unreal!!

When you love skateboarding you can be Tony Hawk or a kid who started today. It is all rad! People who do it for the love also love to see others do it for the same reason. Good point though, you're so brilliant. Momma should have told you you were a good boy/girl.

One of the better tricks that anybody hit on that ledge tbh. She's really small and she popped into that feeble like Tiago Lemos lol, great "submission" all things considered.

Well it was actually only 3 tricks -- kickflip, ollie, and smith. 2 if you don't count the ollie.

I love this contest and love how much women’s skateboarding is progressing. But why not just add a women’s portion to this contest instead of putting them up against the dudes. I don’t see the point of the females competing if they have no shot at all to win. That smith flip out was sick though!
