He’s always been with Double Trouble since his first album. You haven’t seen him without them.
It's still Double Trouble, they've just added Reese Wynans on keys at this point. Sadly, this was SRV's last studio album while he was still alive. His future was cut way too short.
This is simply Stevie paying homage to straight-up 1950's rock & roll. It's in there with "Great Balls of Fire," "Whole Lotta Shakin'," or pretty much anything by Chuck Berry.
This song was released off of In Step not to long after Stevie got clean and sober. There is a complete change in manner and you could tell. He was always smiling and seemed genuinely happy. His style of play seemed to change to me also. He also seemed like he was playing straight power blues. So sad he died shortly after because he seemed to genuinely be very happy in life.
Reese Wynans just kills it on keyboards.
SRV'S "TIGHTROPE" IS FIRE!!
Pure Rock 'n' Roll. No tricks, just great music.
Since you love Stevie Ray Vaughan Jay I know you would enjoy the song Tough enough by the fabulous thunderbirds. Stevie even did a collaboration with them for this song. Much love robsquad family keep the smiles coming 😊❤
In 1990, my sister and I drove up on a Saturday to see an evening of blues at the Alpine Valley outdoor amphitheater. It started with a singer from Chicago whose name I no longer remember-he was more of a younger performer just starting out. Second was Robert Cray-he was amazing!! I hadn’t heard of him before that night, but he just blew me away. Third was Stevie Ray, and his hour onstage could have lasted the whole night and I would not have complained. So great! Then the headliner was why my sister and I were there-Eric Clapton. Just wow. Capped with an encore performance with Jeff Healy.
Stevie was having sooo much fun in this video
S R.V., Is, was, and will forever be, the G.O.A.T.
He’s playing with his band in this one…that is Double Trouble….🎉🎉🎉🎉😊
I think this is my favorite SRV song --just because it's so much fun!
Chris Layton, the drummer, is playing next week with Billy Gibbons and Jimmie Vaughan in Austin for 3 nights.
I'm pretty sure he always played with Double Trouble, he just sows different styles from time to time.
SRV was never without Double Trouble. Merry Christmas!!!
If you wanna slow it down for your next SRV reaction, then please do "Tin Pan Alley" which he performed with Johnny Copeland... freakin' awesome! Double Trouble is the band he formed. His brother, Jimmy, joined them a few years later. The band is still active.
This is Double Trouble... they were Stevie's band. Chris and Tommy had been with Stevie for many, many years. Reese on piano was a later addition.
Stevie was with Double Trouble throughout and added Reese. I saw Chris Layton, the drummer, with Kenny Wayne Shepherd.
He has been with Double Trouble on every single album he's ever put out. They have been together from their very 1st album.
