    Great Question! Both are great mud tires, have tons of bite, deep lugs, come in similar sizes for larger ATVs, have a 6 ply bias design, and provide a relatively smooth ride (for a mud tire that is). In fact, both tires are going to provide very similar performance. Personally, I like the Mud Lite series. It's what I recommend to my friends/family. However, the Sling Shots are a pound or two lighter, and are a little closer to an "All Terrain" lug design and could provide a little smoother ride.

    Thanks! I would recommend a Mud Lite AT. It's basically the same as the XL, just optimized for your 500 scrambler. Also, I believe the smallest XL is a 25" tire. The ITP Mud Lite AT 22x11-10 (DK Part # 542025) should be direct swap for you. The closest tire size in a 23" tire is the DK part # 542027. It is only a 10" wide tire, but for you it shouldn't be a problem since you have an 8" wide rim. However if you do go with the 23", be sure to change all 4 tires to 23" so your 4x4 isn't messed up.

    Good question! After hiking to the far end of the warehouse, (and growing a full beard in the time it took to get there) I can honestly say that the XLs are not stamped with an XL logo. They simply say "MUD LITE" (plus the sizing info etc.) Glad to help! -Drysen.

    Very good mud tires, are good in snow...and that's about it. Tall tires are.good in mud and snow...but for performance on most surfaces...small tires is the way to go.

    I have a 2009 Yamaha Grizzly 700, I am looking at 26" tires with a 12" rim. I do mostly trail riding and clearing alot of snow but I also do like to play in the mud a bit. I was leaning towards a Mudlite XTR or a ITP Mayhem tire. Which would you suggest?

    I do want think the mud lights can handle what I go threw my buddy has em and I have to pull him out of the mud and pull my self out I was thinking 22 inch Maxxiss zillia s or the Gbc gators or 22 inch intreo vampires but I done talk to u once about I have a honda recon 250 es and am getting a hmf if it causes power lose and a cluch kit and k n air filter

  • @DennisKirk

    @DennisKirk

    10 жыл бұрын

    Out of the three you're looking at, I would personally look at the Maxxis Zillas. I can't speak for the GBC Gators as we don't carry them, and I think the Vampires would be overkill on a 250. Afterall, too much bite will rob from your HP making it difficult to turn the tires. (though the pipe, and filter will help) But you're on the right track with the clutch kit. Glad to hear it you're planning on installing one. Let us know how the Zillas work for you!

    i just bought some mega mayhems 27's and i ride pavement to get to the trials and it rides really smooth, and great mud tire but i wish itp could make the lugs hold up better because im already telling some wear in rear tires, i love them and they are what i need, but i can already tell they will only last a couple of years maybe. is there any way to suggest ideas to itp??

    just a quick tip aggressive mud tires die fast if u ride them on pavement even if just for 100 yards!!!!! they are designed to be deep mud tires make sure you use your tires in the right place no atv tire is designed for pavement.

    Hey Gregory, I ran over and spoke with one of our off-road Tech Guys to get his opinion on what would be best for your machine. We agreed that since you're running a 250 Honda, you won't wont to waste any HP by trying to turn super heavy tires, so we came up with the ITP Mud Lite AT tires. Great off-road capabilities, including mud. Here's the DK Part Numbers we came up with - (Front Left # 55-3017 bit.ly/1ryEIZQ ) (Front Right # 55-3018 bit.ly/1jTCa6e ) (Rear Left: 55-3019 bit.ly/1pB6XT7 ) (Rear Right: 55-3020 bit.ly/1rHiq5M ) and the ( Lug Nuts # 55-0206 bit.ly/1r3gbsk )I hope this helps! -Drysen

    With that said, both of these tires have enough bite, that I would recommend looking into a stiffer clutch spring, especially if you're getting into lots of mud. If you'd like more info, or ask about upgrading the clutch spring, I'd give our tech guys a call at 320-358-1916.
