Itchy pregnancy PUPPS or PEP rash that looks like hives with grandpa's pine tar soap remedy

My video outlining what PUPPS (pruritic urticarial papules and plaques of pregnancy) is and how it can affect pregnant women. In my video I also highlight a possible skin care product that worked very well for my pregnant wife. Having PUPPS was probably the saddest moment in my wife's pregnancy because of the intense and severe itching and scratching which deprived her of her sleep, appetite and sanity! There is no orally available medication that she could safely take and the topical remedies recommended by our doctor such as oatmeal baths, calamine lotion and even cortisone creams all proved to be ineffective. What ultimately worked for her and her friends that had PUPPS was Grandpa's Pine Tar Soap. It can be purchased from Amazon.com or local soap re-sellers that sell the line of products from the Grandpa Soap Company. Since we're in Canada there were only two know re-sellers that sold this specific product - A dealer in Toronto and a seller in Vancouver. If you Google Grandpa's Pine Tar Soap Canada you can find the spa's name.
We hope this video will help those whom have suffered or those that are suffering from PUPPS another alternate and natural remedy. It may not work for you but it's cheap enough to give it a try!
Good luck and enjoy my video.

I have ordered the soap. I am 27 weeks and I got it a few days ago. Started off as a few small rashes and within 48 hours it was full blown- scalp (not face) to toes. Thank you for your video. It feels like such a lonely experience but your video has given me some solace. Oh and, I also went out and purchased V8 (vegetable juice) as so many Pupp sufferers stated that it helped them. I've only had one glass but I will let you know how it goes. Thanks once again!

Hi Manjusha, you can just google online and see which shop sells the soap. Its been a while since i last ordered and I ordered mine from a place in Vancouver. There WAS a shop in Toronto selling it but I am not sure of the name of the joint. Google is your friend and I am sure there are LOTS of places selling in the US that would ship to Canada. My wife developed a pretty nasty pupps rash at around week 27. Started out as some welts on her stretch marks followed by a full blown rash on her body. Tried everything from cortisone cream to calamine lotion and nothing worked. Pine tar soap helps control the itching and minimize the rash but ultimately she had to "ride" it out. Soap was most effective for her with cool water showers every 4-6 hours and it literally dried her skin out (she deliberately didn't use lotion). Good luck!

piercedasian Update: After watching your video 2 months ago, I told my sis about your testimonial video and she went out and bought the Grandpa Pine Soap at her local store the following day and notice a big change in her body after one use. With prayers and this God sent soap, she was able to sleep again, go to work or out in public, attend to her kids, and was no longer depressed; pretty much what your wife went through. I was so relieved to know that I was able to help her because of your video. Thank you once again. God bless! 😊

HI Kara, The pine tar soap should help REDUCE the itching and make your PUPPS to make the itchiness more tolerable. When my wife had her PUPPS she was scratching so badly that she was literally tearing her own skin up to the point where it was bleeding. Initially the skin doesn't itch so badly and then it starts to dry out the skin. Don't apply lotion and let it keep drying out. You'll find that it will subside gradually and completely goes away right before or after childbirth.

  • @piercedasian

    @piercedasian

As long as you don't continue to injure or aggravate the scarred area they will over time dissipate and fade away. If you're scratches are super deep then they may become a permanent on your skin. My wife luckily recovered completely and the only thing left from her pregnancy is stretch marks.

the healing was quite slow and even today there are some scars that are visible and it's been almost 3 years. The scars WILL fade slowly but you have to make sure you don't aggravate them by more scratching. My wife's scratching was so bad that she literally was in some spots tearing her skin b/c it itched so badly. patience and resisting the urge to scratch will heal the wounds.

I developed PUPPP on my girl 3 years ago. It was horrible. I was young and clueless. After delivery, it spread and developed into hives on all over my legs and feet. It did go away as soon as my dermotlogist prescribed oral and cream steroids. It helped immediately, everything was gone within 2-3 days. However, had to continue it for another 7 days. Which caused my milk to dry up. Anyways, I am carrying a boy now and develeped PUPPP again at 31 weeks. I am very frustrated. Happy I found this video. I gave this soap a chance, and it works. Ladies, it's worth the try. The smell is not pleasent but smell is gone the moment you come out of the shower. 🙏🙏🙏

Do you think that this will help with my dermatographic urticaria, that only seems to show up when I'm pregnant? This is my second child, and I know it's not pupps, because I don't get circular rash welts, I get perfect LINE (welts). When I am not pregnant I can skin write but it's not really itchy and terrible as it gets when I am pregnant. Now I get them from my bra, clothes, dry air, I get so dry I'm constantly scratching. My prenatal pills cause me to get pimples which itch too, on my face and body it's unbearable. I only discovered it when I was first pregnant then confirmed it after I gave birth, writing hello on my arm with little discomfort. I'm in my first trimester and I know this is going to be a long depressing bitter sweet journey and I want to make it as less sucky as possible

+Tasha Rhodes Hi Tasha, sorry to hear about your urticaria. That sucks that you have to deal with something so painfully tortuous. I would certain give the soap a try. It isn't expensive and if it does work then you've just found the holy grail of relief. Worst case is that if it doesn't do anything for you that you just bought yourself some inexpensive, nice smelling soap so it certainly isn't a waste of money or anything like that. Definitely worth trying ANYTHING at this point. Give it a shot and I hope it works out for you - let our audience know how it worked out for you.

Thank you for the video. I'm 28 weeks and have been itching for 3 days. Cold showers and calamine help but not for long. Just got a bar of the grandpas soap today. Have taken 2 showers using it and so far it has calmed the itching significantly. You are right when you said it spreads fast. goodness it really does. I went from having it on belly and thighs to having it practically head to toe within 48 hours. Oh and I'm having a girl. Doc says that water retention and rapid skin stretching can cause the histamine reaction. Fingers crossed it goes away. 12 weeks of this I may loose my mind.

Hi guys, im on my 36th week. these rashes started on my 35th, and accdg to old people my baby is getting hairy that's why my belly bacame a little itchy, after 2-3 days i was suprised how fast the rashes spread from my belly to my arms then on my buttocks and on my legs... and its so terrible i cant rid of the itchiness. i have searched a lot on the internet on what's happening and found out that this may be puppp. comments on blogs suggest to use grandpa's pine tar soap, so i looked for this in local online shopping store and im happy i found one. its my second day today of using the soap and it does okay. i know that the results may be a little longer and the itch wont go away that quickly. i took a bath 3-4 times a day and let it sit on my skin for 4-6 minutes before rinsing it off... there's a tingy sensation on my skin after rinsing and its painful, probably because of the severe scratches i had, so far this soap helps in giving me relief for hours. i hope this would really treat my skin rashes, and when my baby comes out i just hope that these will all go away.

Try not to leave the soap on your skin for any longer than necessary as the soap does dry the skin out and that would likely irritate it even more. In the final weeks my wife felt like she was ready to kill herself but the soap made it bearable until our son was born. Once baby is out the pupps is completely gone. Hope your feel better and try your best to NOT scratch and overdo things. Be patient and I wish you the best of luck on your pregnancy.

I'm just wondering, when your wife used it, did it clear the rash at all or did it just stop the itch? Did she find that it LOOKED worse immediately after using it? Mine doesn't feel worse after using it - but it seems to make it LOOK worse. Bumps are really really red and more of them almost it seems. Thanks!

Hi, I'm Elizabeth. I have had a rash for going on two months. It starts out add red bumps, that turn into blotches, then into plaques, and itches like crazy. It waxes and wanes, but never goes away fully. The doctor at the community health center claims it tho be bug bites. I have no animals, have not changed soap, i don't use lotions as i have always had sensitive skin. I have also had two exterminator companies come to my home to check for signs of fleas and bed bugs, which two hundred dollars later, we don't even have. I have not been exposed to scabies, head or body lice or chiggers . So i went back last week and she is still claiming bugs bites. I am so TIRED of medical professionals using my socioeconomic standing as an excuse to not provide medical care. I live with three others, my fiance and another couple, all of whom have no such rash, no bites our any thing. I just want it to stop, why won't any one help me?

Elizabeth Dziadyk I am sorry to hear about your predicament. I don't really know what to make of it. Have you talked to your doctor about parasites? If you'd believe it parasites that you may have encountered from eating meat or even vegetables that had them could cause your immune system to react to whatever could be inside of you. I would agree that it likely isn't insect bites since the other people living with you show no symptoms of the rash. If all else is the same then I would suspect parasites could be an issue. You can ask your doctor to conduct some tests and if they're discovered an anti-parasite med can be prescribed. Hopefully things work out for you - get well soon.

Hang Pham about 4 days or so was when the itching subsided considerably. She would use the soap which would "dry out" the pupp rashes and then after she couldn't tolerate the extreme dryness she applied aloe lotion to soothe the skin and for the most part she was good afterwards. They key to using the soap is to not use warm water. The cooler the water the better. Of course don't overdo it either with the soap since more isn't always better. thanks for watching my vid, Hope you feel better!

+Whoyen Vu I'm glad you found my video and I was able to help relate with your situation. I said to my wife that if I could as a spouse take the pain and itching from pupps away for her I would. Based on what she's described to me it is something that you wouldn't wish on your worst enemy. The pains that women go through for child bearing is amazing. I couldn't do it. I hope your Pupps is short lived or at least under control by the time you get my message. Good luck and take care.

+Whoyen Vu yikes! That sucks that you have PUPPS but the good news is that it will go away after yo give birth. I hope your PUPPS goes away sooner than that because the suffering is quite bad. Good luck and let us know how the V8 juice worked out for you.
