Excellent win for Italy, didn’t expect this result tbh. First goal was quality. Game should have been played at Stadio Olimpico as it’s the National Stadium.

Italy tour with the national team, both men and women, so everybody gets a glimpse of them. Hopefully the will play Stadio Olimpico someday though

i am terribly sorry for A) most players playing far below their possibilities and quality they display almost each week at their clubs and B) for the tunnel vision of the manager coach, putting players at weird spots, his tactical game and some weird subbing.

Buena victoria para Italia, aun así, pudieron haber sido más si las chicas dejaban la individualidad de lado y por el contrario se centraban más en el juego colectivo. No entiendo como es posible que teniendo opción de pase y a tu compañero solo frente a la cancha prefieras tirar al arco, incluso sin generar ningún peligro. En cuanto a Países Bajos, no tengo mucho por decir, solo que se nota la ausencia de muchas de sus figuras como Martens, Roord y Daphne. En serio parecían niñas de primaria jugando al fútbol, solo corriendo detrás de un balón (y me atrevo a decir que hasta las niñas lo habrían hecho mejor).

Also, the intensity of Italy was far better.., their will to win. Too many Dutch players were absent from the start. Even DVD and also (always way too slow) Spitse, Janssen, Brugts and Pelova too. Wth happened? Looked like they didn't want to play within the tactics of our manager coach.. Can't remember the time i was so disappointed and frustrated..

Netherlands doesn't have a Miedema or Martens longer that can give the the extra edge. I know they kinda still play but they haven't really been a force for a while. Netherlands got som good ladies now too, but Miedema and Martens were top5 players in the world.

@@Eddvard90 : Daphne van Domselaar and Jackie Groenen also missing. But most of all, the "Orange Lionesses" miss someone like Stefanie van der Gragt (she retired). Andries Jonker still does not have the guts to start with Fenna Kalma and/or Romée Leuchter. At least Damaris Egurrola and Wieke Kaptein were there, but they could also not make the difference this time.

@@oscarvanschijndel4989 They were missing a massive amount of players so can't really so can't really fault them for this result. It takes time to play in new players. Maybe more Dutch players should move to an.other Leauge than WsL, it's seems very innjury prone, but ofc the money is prob the best :)

Big victory for Italy. That win could boost their chances to qualify for Euro 2025, I know it sounds early to say, but it could happen around June or July for them to qualify directly.

Still I won't rule out they to stumble against Finland. This win is a bad omen for that game, Italy needs to be on their tows..

As I said in in other post before the Netherlands Chance to win a WC has come and gone (2019 was their time) they let it slips out their hands. But i have to mention Victoria Pelova, she's top of the class right now.

Giacinti is pronounced Giacinti. Cambiaghi is pronounced Cambiaghi. Italian is one of the easiest languages to learn pronunciation from spelling. Guess what letter is pronounced -s-... It is THE job of a sports commentator to get the most basic pronunciations correct, including Dutch commentators.

Italy played with a high level of intensity. The game could have ended much worse for the Netherlands, as Italy had a few more they could have converted.

High intensity, solid team play and good individiual performances by Giugliano, Giacinti, Cambiaghi and Guiliani.If they swap Bonansea, a hero ofc but she's done , for Cantore this will look even better.

I think Italy impressed with their 1-0 goal, that kind of action is wclass, Gugliano is for sure a wclass player also. Also Italy impress in that they are starting to get good results against good teams. For Netherlands, they gave away a lot of opportunities with sloppy defence and going forward they looked void of ideas.

Disgraceful for a Team like the Netherlands, with a good record and history to lose like this to lowly Italia.

Lowly Italy? They were in Spains group in the NsLg and finished runners up. They were also the only team to beat Spain in that group. Ranked 9th by Uefa and 14th by Fifa. What makes you think they are lowly ?

Championship was 2017, seven years ago. Quite a number of players have retired since then. Some of them are still there, new players arrived. Problem is more like "how can we get this football machine working?"... the players all have their qualities, but it does not look like a team to me, unlike Spain, France, Germany.
