The Blackshit being it's own type of battalion is cool. It'd be nice if a paramilitary/militia battalion was added to the vanilla game. Less equipment and more suppression but with a lower attack than infantry.

For germany the SA, although already disbanded by 1936 but who cares, come to minds. Communist germany could have the Rotfront, monarchist the Freikorps and democratic the Reichsbanner Schwarz-Rot-Gold (paramilitary group of the SPD). Facist britain could have their Blackshirts, for other nations and Ideologies you could just make stuff up.

6:06 Romania was actually a historical name for the Roman Empire. It means Romanland or land of the Romans. Edit: This is why Byzantium has to not exist to form Romania in EU4, because otherwise you have two Romanias. 😛

1. Romana was never used to refer to the empire. In the Latin era, they used either Imperium Romanum (Roman Empire), Imperium Romanorum (Empire of the Romans) or simply Roma. 2. In the Byzantine era, the official name was Basileia ton Rhomaion, which is a direct Greek translation of Imperium Romanorum. The shorthand that the Byzantines used was Rhomania, land of the Romans, which is what the OP was referring to.

@@bisque6448 I knew about the the Imperium Romanum actually. I was just referring to the word Roman itself. But this sounds like a much better of an explanation than mine. Rome was indeed called Roma in their language, I just thought they used both Roma & Romana. Roma is even the name of “Rome” in HOI3 whenever I play it

I mean, uniting the American senate with the Roman senate is on point.

Imagine beeing Mussolini, sitting in hell, taking a look at Hoi4. You realize your Italy has one of the worst focus trees of them all, so you look at mods. But two of the best mods you can find turn you into an European Mao, trying to destroy Italian culture by banning spaghetti, and replace you with a guy who tries to conquer the world in the name of liberal democracy. So you look for a mod with a historical, but better focus tree for Italy, and find one that is actually good! And then you realize they replaced your portrait with that embarrassing picture of yourself, where your PR-guy talked you into wearing that stupid helmet because it made you look "belligerent".
