Switzerland actually has quite easy access to the ocean already, as the Rhine is an easily navigable river. Switzerland as a result does actually have "ports" on its "coast".

That compliance is definitely way too op. They should think about implementing a way to speed it up somehow for other nations or nerf that compliance gain into the ground.

Speeding it up for all nations is called "Prepare collaborationist government", though yeah, it would be cool with methods after the war, not just before and during. Agree that the compliance gain is OP, 0.1 is already too strong with 0.05 being a more reasonable value.

@@LeDoctorBones I was thinking more inline with the idea of a political advisor giving a buff, or making it one of the passive focuses. Collab government only works on one nation at a time whereas steady gain works on all occupied territories.

I find it weird Switzerland gets a focus tree... But not Albania. Honestly, the road to 56 Albania tree has you literally reclaiming the throne of Egypt because Muhammad Ali Pasha! Also, I felt Egypt should of been released and given a focus tree, given how they were actually their own state, but was a dominion under the British as the Anglo-Egyptian Kingdom of Egypt and Sudan.

I think the dev team has stated they originally planned to make Egypt its own country but couldn't figure out how to not make the A.I. fuck up the Frontline by having it not be a direct part of them.

It's interesting to ponder how Switzerland could become expansionist. Next to the bits already shown in this vid, they could claim Mulhouse, Rothenburg, and some other towns that were associated with the Confederacy. These all conveniently lie in the Alemannic German room, and from that out you could kickstart Alemannic nationalism (which is presented as an anti-Prussian, anti-Parisian alternative for BaWü and Alsace-Lorraine). You could even imply in the long term, it's intended to fully makes this an autonomous cultural room from the German sphere, akin to how happened with the Dutch areas. As these are Germanic territories, Switzerland could choose to focus on that, or it could continue the Germanic-Latin fusion, so in addition to the Alemannic areas, to balance it out it would claim areas for all the other language groups: the French part claims (as shown) Upper and then entire Savoy, conjuring some Arpitan/Provençal and Alpine regionalism, even up to Grenoble. For the Italian areas, everything up to Milan (realistically, the city itself can't be claimed) could be claimed on historical grounds (as there were military adventures there) and via establishing Switzerland as the representative of Lombard nationalism on the country level. Finally, for Romansh, the Ladin areas in the Dolomite alps could be claimed, adding more northern Italy (but the Italian language itself would be suppressed in favor of the traditional regional languages). This way, Switzerland would officially become a Alemannic-Provençal-Lombard nationalist entity. Eventually, on pragmatic grounds without good justification, the Maritime Alps could be claimed to get access to the sea.

I think it's becoming tradition to watch an iSorrow HoI4 video and then get inspired to play Company of Heroes immediately afterwards. The same would apply to Valefisk warcrimes but Vale's upload schedule is less... common of an occurrence.

Honestly the Swiss getting almost double the K/D shapes up with that threat the one diplomat gave the nazi's about them shooting twice and going home. (I forget the whole thing, but when a nazi diplomat asked what Switzerland would do with it's 500k standing army if they invaded with 1 million troops, the swiss diplomat just said all the soldiers would shoot twice and go home.)

A bit far fetched xD before ww1 the german kaiser visited the swiss military to see wether the army was in good shap and they could count on the swiss being able to defend the land on their own if for example the french wanted to sneak around the front. There allegedly a soldier was asked what they‘d do if a much bigger army would come. „Shoot twice and go home“
