If you want to have the recording camera plugged in, you need to remove the battery. It works in my go pro hero and I have no problems with a dead battery it unless I accidentally pull out the cable.

I've driven on this road heaps of times and its never too congested and always enjoyable. I prefer driving on Italian motorways than here in the UK. Much better lane discipline in Italy!

poor signage in quite a lot of places, and sometimes drivers are mad and they don't know what a blinker or safe distance are@@singingLeaf123

5:16 oh damn... I wonder if that left lane guy saw the broken car ahead, if I were him/her and if I did, I wouldn't attempt to overtake. I guess he/she didn't see that car, although I could expect anything about manoeuvres in Italy... BTW this lack of hard shoulders and emergency areas terrifies me a bit. It reminds me of Tri-City bypass (in Northern Poland) where accidents happen every day because of tons of traffic and lack of hard shoulders in critical sections.

Guess the lack of hard shoulders and short ramps has to do with the highway standards back in the 50s, 60s and 70s when this stretch was built. I do remember most tunnels used to have concrete road surfaces. As most now have smooth asphalt and special side lighting construction looks to be finished, but the yellow markings not yet removed of adapted?

It probably has the most, though Norway has over 1,000 tunnels as well (despite having 10% the population of Italy).

@@EuropeanRoads Italy is currently the European country with the highest number of road tunnels. In fact, as regards the TERN network, approximately 610 road tunnels are currently in operation for a total length of approximately 710km and the total number of tunnels in operation on roads under the responsibility of ANAS is 1235 for a total length of approximately 755km, of which no. 911 are single-tube tunnels (bidirectional) and 295 are double-tube tunnels (monodirectional).

Also I guess Italy has the shortest entry ramps, maybe except for Scandinavia. Therefore I'm not shocked of some Italian drivers that slow down or literally stop before entering the entry lane.

I take it people don't use those oval markers on the cars indicating which country they come from, right?

That information is integrated within European License plates (the blue bar on the left has the country code), so no need

Most European countries have plates with blue Euroband that has country code included. However Swiss, Liechtensteiner and British cars must have a country code stick on their rear bumper or bootlid (unless they have a licence plate with an Euroband, it's an optional thing in the UK)
