Deliciously summer!! The dangerous part about this cake is that is SO light and fluffy, you can eat the whole thing in a sitting if you’re not careful 😳… not that I’ve done it or anything… 🙄 lol

Thank you, Wendy! Exactly! It's a lot of whipping, but this combined with the low oven temps results in that big rise! It's not quite as fun to make if you have to whip by hand though! 😻😻

I baked this cake, yesterday! Wow it was gorgeous I received so many compliments, at home! Tastes very light and not too sweet actually even though 300g. sugar, really isn’t that sweet so next time I will get some condiments to go with it. Today was a treat for breakfast. Not very difficult recipe just lots of mixing 😅☺️ Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful recipe!

I'm so glad you made it! My favourite way to eat it is dipped in a sweet milky coffee - that is how my Nonna always had it! But it's really nice with sweetened cream and fruit, or ice cream! Thanks Lorelie!! I grew up on this cake! I spent a lot of time having sleepovers at my Nonno and Nonna's - and this was always breakfast!! As the batter is whisked for a long time and cooked at a low temperature, you get the most amazing rise! It's so light in texture, it's easy to eat more than one slice!! 😻😻

I wish I could share this with you, Karen! Sadly, we ended up throwing some of it away because we just couldn't finish it. 😿😿

Hi, what would be the oven temperature and do you bake at the lowest rack?

You'll want to bake this at 155C or 315F for between 75 and 90 minutes. I placed mine on the middle rack of the oven, but it'll work on the lowest rack too! I hope that helps! 💖😻

Baking is definitely a science and you have to be a lot more precise in terms of ingredients, temperatures and measurements! It just takes a lot of practice!! Keep at it and you'll be baking all sorts in no time!! 😻😻
