Italian for Musicians 1 - Tempo markings | Italian Music Terminology

Classical music scores are filled with Italian words that need to be understood and interpreted. What does Allegro non troppo actually mean? And what's the correct pronunciation of Accelerando? In our first video on Italian music terminology we explain many of the Italian terms that are found in music, starting with tempo markings, and we provide examples for most of them.
ENGLISH subtitles available.
Correction: When added to a tempo marking, "sostenuto" (6:22) actually indicates a slightly slower tempo, in contrast with the actual meaning of the word in Italian.
** Our videos on Italian music terminology are now a BOOK with many more terms and explanations. Now available as paperback and digital download. **
