it was almost done and then this happened...

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Today on Aussie Arvos we've got a lot to do on the patrol build. With less then 2 weeks to the Sydney 4x4 show we're putting this car back to together, with brand new suspension, including remote reservoir shocks, bigger springs, bump stops, extended swaybar links and also we are going to try and fit out new wheels and tyres...

You probably got the rim for a Toyota, which has a center bore of 106mm. It's really just 4mm difference on the diameter, 2mm on the wall. I almost feel like machining those 2mm of the wall would not compromise it, but who knows.

Get them thrown in a lathe and increase the centre bore. Not a hard job, only thing is the centre caps won't fit, but you can make 3d printed adapters or use thin alloy pipe adaptors to make them work also with the larger centre bore.

If you carnt get the rims take to a machine shop and get the middle lathed out to the correct size. I have done this before on an old patrol as long as the wheel studs are right it won’t take much to large the centre. Keep up the great work

Thats project cars for ya! Just wondering with your remote res clamps in the rear. I've got Dobinsons MRRs' and i know their instructions say not to clamp in the middle of the body of the res. I'm guessing this is because floating piston and clamping may interfere.. if its not in their fitting instructions, worth asking the question of fulcrum to check. Keep at it fella's not far off now!

Yeah, make sure you can still easily access the adjustments on the remote reservoir in any conditions. Last thing you need is having to crawl underneath when wet or muddy etc. Great progress. It's starting to look like a track weapon. Beadlocks are illegal for road use in NSW. So I'm sure a lot of the hardcore 4WDers in NSW are watching this with envy. But it sux that you were sent the incorrect wheels. Hopefully it's been sorted by now. Great episode boys. 👍👍

Must be fully inspected, tested and certified by an automotive engineer. You should talk to one BEFORE you start or there is a good chance you will waste your money on parts that don't meet the engineering requirements. This video gives you a good idea of how an automotive engineer goes about the certification and all the work and paperwork involved. This is N.S.W. and while laws vary from state to state, the process of certification is basically the same. kzread.info/dash/bejne/nZ-H1Zqpf6aug5s.html

Vic's a nannie state, far from legal. I'm sure some mobs would engineer it but without it and by the book, no way in hell for any of the above. Beadlocks are a canary on their own

I really hope you used a genuine windscreen seal bro 😭 if you didn’t it will %110 leak. also if any sealant was used it will definitely cause rust and leaks. take it from me, had my windscreen changed 4 times, leaked 3/4 until the 4th when i finally got a genuine seal

The more I think about this, the more I would be interested to see what the retailer says about this. The box clearly states 110.15mm, and if it's not that all the way through the "bore" then it's not as described. All their rims are not as described, misleading, or maybe it was a Friday arvo job and they "forgot" to bore all the way through on yours. Is it only one that is like that or all of them?

I've just purchased a set of ATI hybrids! Picking them up with some new tyres on Friday. What nuts did you use? Tyre shop called saying they didnt provide any. Any idea if factory patrol nuts fit?

Question, did the two blue fulcrum springs look the same height? Is there a driver's side and a passenger side because of a load difference?
