It's time to start validating YOURSELF!

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Happy Wednsesday, and Happy New Year, Angels!!! Today, we're diving deep into a topic that's close to my heart - the power of SELF validation.
A few month ago, I posted an episode on how to break free from the shackles of seeking validation, particularly on social media. But today, on this podcast episode, I want to take it a step further. We're getting more into the real-life examples of seeking validation from external sources - whether it's in the form of male attention, approval from parents, influence from friends, and we'll even touch a bit on social media again in this episode.
Let's chat and really unravel the intricacies of seeking validation in our everyday lives, beyond the screens and into the heart of our personal relationships. By the end of this episode, I hope you feel empowered to break free from the grips of external validation and nurture true self-worth.

Limiting the validation I seek from my parents is the biggest thing I am aiming to do in 2024. Constantly having worry/anxiety about disappointing them as an adult has been wild. I’m over it!

I have been following you since 2019. You have always felt like online big sis to me, you are so wise. 🙂 Also, i am not from English speaking country, so i have learned much from you, because you speak English very clearly, professionally and understandably. ( sounds maybe little weird but it is easy to take notes from you. :--) You are doing an amazing job!😇

finished watching asha, asha in 2024 i want to get prepared to be able to be ready to meet Allah anytime, for that I'll have to become my ideal self and do my worship, gain knowledge, be kind and clean heart and do lots of good deeds Insha'Allah, i want to become my ideal self before i die Insha'Allah and really not take my life for granted, since the day we are born it's like we can die any moment, i just want to be more sincere with my actions and stop being lazy, it's just that depression often becomes a hurdle in the way and it gets hard to get out of the things we are stuck in but Insha'Allah I'll try to not get into perfectionism and seek help through patience and prayer and remember Allah is the most Merciful and forgiving and kind. I know you don't believe in Islam but I do know you respect everyone and I wished to share this in response to your 2024 question, I'm trying asha, life if tough and i love you so much❤ take care

Wow!! This is great food for thought! Thank you so much! I think I’ve found there are ways I still kind of seek validation from my parents. And maybe in other ways. Thank you for sharing. This is SO important. And I love that you’re not judging, but firm correction, etc!

Feminism for me is about political/social/economic equality, not "the eradication of a family home." Women's household labor is hard WORK and I think feminism does an excellent job of validating that labor and expanding women's choices. I find your content to be overall really empowering and have been inspired by you becoming more open about your faith! I know you said "end of story" on that topic, but if you ever decide to dig into it, know you have an audience ;)

Hey Asha, great episode ( I listened to the podcast this morning). Could you maybe expound on or do an episode on why you stated that we shouldn’t be feminists? I was shocked to hear that considering your previous videos but I do understand that your content is changing and will reflect your faith and spiritual journey. Is this something you’ve always felt? Thank you.

Thank you , really needed this. Just woke up feeling sad because I’m away from home and I switched on my phone and expected to see messages from friends and family but there was absolutely nothing. I dont want to be in a relationship been there done that and honestly it doesn’t interest or excite me anymore but loneliness can just make you think you just need someone when you dont as in in a romantic dynamic .That is why it is important not to rely on feelings because feelings are not always reliable.

My father wasn’t in my life and yet I’ve had one solid relationship and I’m 30 that I’m still in. The thought of sleeping around has never been my personality and never will. The stereotype that we are attention seekers that don’t love ourselves and will just let any man in our life is not only offensive but extremely judgmental. But I guess that’s just built into being a Christian. I urge you to get different perspectives and not paint everyone with the same brush even if their background differs from yours, because you could be closing the door on so many good people. That attitude is off putting. How are you going to give advice when you have zero evidence that you’ve succeeded at it?
