No mention of the injuries… no mention of that much improved defense that gave up 130 plus to the Lakers after beating to Clippers the game before. You can’t oversimplify what happened to the Hawks season and say the hawks played better without Trae… that means they also played better defense without Sadie Bey and Hunter when they missed games. The issue is the hawks are poorly constructed and since that 2021 run the front office has been shedding salary rather than improve the roster

Trae Young right now is what KAT was in like 2018-2019. A guy who puts up good numbers on a bad team and can't get it done in the playoffs. But people treat him like he's a franchise player when he's not which is why people think he's overrated. Just like KAT, Trae is a 1B type player not a 1A even if he gets 1A treatment.

Nall I disagree so quick when we forget. Boston got em as a one seed, Miami got him as a two seed. He went to a conference finals as a five seed and should a had a finals appearance if not for a referee tripping him. In Trae career he’s been all nba should a been been all nba his second season which was the most successful sophomore season in nba history 30 & 10 never been done. He lead the ncaa in points and assists never been done. Then did it in year four in his nba career only the big O did that.He leads the nba in assists since being drafted, 30 point games since being drafted, 30& 10 games since being drafted. Ice Trae so cold there changed the rules and still couldn’t stop him. Look at the game Brunson playing like Trae foul baiting and being applauded for it & receiving the calls Trae don’t get.. Don’t follow the bs narrative get some eyes. Luka playing like dogshit and yall championing that bs. Luka and Kyrie didn’t make the playin last year and they didn’t say ish about Luka weak , they need a reset. Them folks yall talking about ain’t lead the league in ish.. He’s the Hawks franchise assist leader already and top four in points already. He’s going to be a top ten scorer and top five assists man all time. You don’t trade that. You figure the other ish out and this organization has failed him miserably. If Trae don’t twist his ankles the Hawks are nba champs already and the narrative is very different. He'd been an allstar and all nba since then.

This quite literally a false statement. Trae Young made the playoffs 3 straight seasons including an ECF appearance and is 26 and 9 in the playoffs including being 3/3 on game winning shots in the post season. Great take as always Jamal! The league is changing and we're seeing less value placed on offense-only players. It's happening on multiple teams throughout the league - for Bulls fans, it happened with Zach Lavine, and it's happening with Trae Young too. Trae is a very talented offensive player, that's a true statement. However, that's just not enough in an evolving league where mismatches are so heavily targeted and defensive liabilities are abused, particularly in high stakes games and playoff series. When Trae was injured, the Hawks came in and rocked the Bulls with fast pace, ball movement, and team play. When Bulls fans heard Trae was back for the play-in, they rejoiced, because they knew it would equal a dub, and it did. Sure, his offensive talent is valuable, and maybe in the right situation he could continue to impact winning at the rate that some people expect. But right now, I would argue that he's a net negative - he's one of the league's worst defenders, and while offensively talented, the poor shot selection and high usage reduce that offensive impact and that's why you end up with a situation where the Hawks play better and more cohesively as a unit as soon as he exits the lineup. The era of offense-only superstars is slowly fading away. The only offense-only players who can claim the superstar title are the absolute top echelon of players in the entire world (KD, Jokic, Luka, etc.). Two-way players are the future of the superstar - Giannis, Embiid, Tatum, Wemby, SGA, etc. - this shift is slow, but it's definitely happening, and seeing players like Trae Young/Zach Lavine's stocks at an all-time low is evidence of it.

Let Trae be respected as the all-star he is in the locker room and in the game. He is the only real all-star on the team. DJ reserve all star don't count. The statistics on Trae young does not show accurate statistics. Trae does not play well during the times opponents were in their territorial basketball court. Lakers playing in la and their star player is James let Bron. Of course Trae can not play well. it is centers team mates of Trae who should all be ban from nba. The tall players were not playing well with pre meditations. The tall players planned not to play well and planned to have it all blamed on Trae young. Emill.

Trae is a star, and I think that it's unfair to put all of the Hawks' struggles on him. However, he is nowhere near good enough to lead a team to prosperity. The question is, who or what will they get for him if they do trade him? The Hawks' front office doesn't have a glowing record with trades. Also, Idk about building around Murray. Despite the positives that you mentioned about his impact, he isn't that much better than Trae. They should consider trading both.

you used the word superstar to describe trae young multiple times in this video. that is a word he is nowhere near deserving. he is a good player with some severe deficiencies. he isnt well rounded at all. a few skills he excels at with many others he struggles to do. he is one of those players like harden or embiid or chris paul who will give you great numbers and stat pad their whole career but never win anything no matter who you put around them. he is a guy that belongs on bad to average teams to give their fans a reason to turn up and watch the game so the hawks are the perfect spot

Never have been impressed by volume scorers who take a zillion shots to get it. Scoring 30-35 is only good when your under 25 shots snd do it efficiently. Scoring 35 with 30 shots is trash. 43% garbage i see all the time. Also player shave their numbers inflsted because rheyre rhebonly good player on the team so they have the green light to take 40 shots. Like harden in houston or beal in nwashington.. of course they look good they take all the shots snd sre the only decent player on the team. But in reality theyre just sbove average and not a superstar..

If i was ATL I would not build around him. Hes a flashy role player who cant play D. Hes to small to just use his size on defense to make up for his lack of prowess on that end. He makes questionable mistakes often. He scores like he does because who else is going to do it on that team. He would be better on a team with a bigger guy whos gonna drive the team. He can ride shot gun tho lol. I think Spurs or Magic would be better for him. Atlanta needs to much for him to be a winner there. If he wants to win hes gotta go from the hawks. Hes not a bad player he just has to many weaknesses to make him that guy
