I decided to refresh our 2011 Dodge Journey R/T's front suspension. Somethings are meant to be hard and I already prepared myself for some torture. I rented a ball joint press from AutoZone and bought a full can of PB blaster. But to my surprise the entire job went fairly smoothly. Not to say it is easy for the average DIYer, but with some mechanical know-how and the willingness to try, this can be done in a few hours at home. Now I have done ball joints before and they never seem to go well, but I got lucky that these actually came out of the knuckle and the only thing that really gave me any trouble was the wheel speed sensor.
So, let's get started and replace some worn out suspension together. Hopefully this will be a good how-to video that will help you on your 2011-2020 Dodge Journey. Ours is a 3.6 with front wheel drive only, but the suspension we're working on should cross over for all years and models.
