The way she sees Cooper for the first time. I had the same reaction when I met my husband. Stomach just full of butterflies and knees wobbling.

The man was modest, down to earth, he knew how to make a woman laugh, he had common sense and he was as fine a gentleman as an American can be,,,Wish we had more of him, World would be better off

+Nikiforos Ouranos I am young--but I simply adore Gary Cooper. He has that look--the look that just makes one shiver a little--a good shiver --warm and cool at the same time. Needless to say, he is my favorite actor--along with Gregory Peck. However, Cooper was the "it" man. I think every female star he starred with fell in love with him--and he with her.

Barbara’s hysterical outburst at the end of that film turns me off (in a similar way to Jean Arthur’s in “Mr.Deeds Goes to Town”).

THANK YOU FOR THIS VID!! I have such a ridiculous crush on Gary Cooper! And it all started when I saw "Meet John Doe" and the deal was sealed when I saw "Saratoga Trunk"... Seriously- the first clip you have in this vid- I SWEAR must be the hottest scene from a movie! Makes your blood run so hot just the way he LOOKS at her. That's some serious acting chops. Anyway... thank you! :)

The Gilmore Girls set was built for this movie-- recognize Luke's Diner and then Luke's upstairs apt. at the beginning? The outside of Richard & Emily's house can also be seen @ 02:02 in the video.

I love this song. What a genius that Cole Porter was. This SERIOUSLY made me want to go back and watch Meet John Doe. I'd forgotten how brilliant he was in it.

Cole Porter wrote good songs, but as a human being he was an absolute ass ! Gary Cooper (real name Frank Cooper) was a man, a real man. A good man. Kind, humble, compassionate, intelligent, kind, loving, and so much more. SO much!!! I'm 80 next year, and have loved him since age 12, and always will. I'm in Montana, for over 50 years, where he was born and raised. He was a real man, a real cowboy. They don't make them like him anymore. Bless him, and the horse he rode in on, for ever and ever. I love you, and I always will.

It's very hard for me to pick a favorite Gary movie.. All of the ones I have seen are just out of this world. But I guess if I had to pick one would be Mr Deeds Goes To Town. He and Jean Author have such good chemistry together love seeing them together. I have a collection of his movie's some old from his very first time ever on camera until the last one he made before his passing. Such a beautiful man and a great actor. Wish he was still around, he and Randolph Scott was my favorite actors even over John Wayne. Miss the Coop( YEP).

This is great -- except for Dame Flora Robson in blackface, behind Ingrid Bergman in the "Saratoga Trunk" excerpt - awful! I can't believe she agreed to do this, she was a great star of the British stage.
