I add dry onion soup mix to all my roasts; beef, pork or a whole chicken. Makes them so delicious and the best gravy ever.

Back when I was working, I would quickly sear a roast and place it in my crockpot with a little water and Lipton onion soup mix on low. I also surrounded it with onions, potatoes and carrots. I would leave it on low and when I came home, all I had to do was make gravy and it was ready.

Yummy 😋 Homemade ham and Swiss hot pockets with crescent roll dough today for lunch. I thawed leftover spaghetti for dinner. And I made some pear crisp with pears from my backyard tree. They were frozen from last fall. My husband loves that I home cook everything. We hardly eat out and if we do It’s just cheap breakfast or something like it.

My mom used to cook roasts in an electric fry pan like the first one. She always let the water cook off and added more during cooking. It made a richer gravy. Just have to be careful not to let it burn. Looks delicious!!

My mom always cooked her roast on the stove top like you did in the electric skillet. I find it takes just a little bit more babysitting than roasting in the oven or in a slow cooker, but there really is no better flavor. The gravy is oh so yummy!

I bought an inexpensive digital meat thermometer. So totally worth it to tell temps. for doneness. And I am totally sold on my Instant Pot. Cooks so quickly and seals in the flavor. I still roast in the oven occasionally, usually just in the winter.

I made a beef roast the other day. My husband took a sandwich to work and I made beef & noodles with the rest. I had that for lunch and we both had it for supper! I love those roasts. Mine was actually a thick steak. I also used leftover gravy from another roast I made. I froze the gravy and didn't have to do more of the Mississippi roast gravy. Thanks for all your ideas and sharing.

I put carrots, potatoes, and onions in. all done Complete meal

best most succulent roasts are the 7blade roast also called an underblade roast...or chuck roast...I simply but butter in a dutch oven, melt it, salt and pepper very well on all sides of roast and sear on top of the stove for a few minutes each side...then I add some liquid...cover...and it can then go into a low oven or just continue on top of the stove...but it takes a few hrs...3 hrs usually...makes the best gravy and roast in the world...

No I don't hardly use my instant pot for that same reason. My cousin had a blow up canning so I just don't use it. It's really ok if you don't want to use it. :-) If you want to learn there are a lot of videos out there with people using it.

The quota error that happened last week April 15-19 was experienced by many. All the live chats I was on were discussing it too. I have not experienced the U.N. subbing issue, but many people have. Grrreat. So sad for our favorite content creators. Makes me suspicious if it has to do with monetization somehow. Love this channel

The Instant Pot is an electric pressure cooker. I have a 3qt, a 6qt, and an 8qt, I love them.

Every time I try roast in the crock pot it turns into a rubber ball. I’ve tried lowest setting, taking out of the fridge before cooking, adding liquid, reducing liquid, doesn’t matter what cut. I gave up and tossed the crock pot.

Nobody but me eats bacon at my house but me so i never buy bacon. I will use butter. I stock up on it when it is on sale.
