My big brother turned me on to the Nighthawks in 1976 or 77 when I was still in high school with the Open All Night album. Saw them for the first time in 77 at The Bayou in DC. Between 77 and 86, probably saw them 40 or so times. Saw Jimmy and the Assassins, and the Drivers a couple of times. One badass dude on that guitar. He's been one of my all time favorites since I first heard him. Loved the Flying V he used way back too.

While visiting my parents in Fort Myers, Florida, I heard there was a band playing out in Buckingham at the Buckingham blues bar, so I went. It was Jimmy Thacker, and the drivers. I’m telling you true. My jaw dropped about two hours later I picked it off the floor, it was immediately a lifelong fan after that. This guy is from another dimension.!! What talent!!
