Close , but with well over 115 albums , and now the new releases from the Zappa. Foundation Zappa played with the best Steve Vai ,Jean Luc ponty , Ruth Underwood , and Mayall is God of the BLUES for me , cheers mate, it'd be close though , I've wondered that ny self , and Frank Vincent Zappa , RIP. was a Virtuoso Guitarist as is Vai , George Dukes Chad waggerman Terry Bozio , now apologies for the thousands i forgot , stay well Geoegejasper

Moore must be one of the most underated guitarist ever (if not the most underated). He could play anithing, from classic blues, he invented rock blues (what Bonamassa embraced), hard rock, jazz, etc... and he was a master in all of that. Rarely you see such a guitarist.

1969 having a beer with my girlfriend in a tiny bar in belfast this actually blew me away - totally took me to a place in my soul that i am forever grateful for - took me away in my mind from the troubles in ireland at the time still listening today 2021 and the chills are up and down my spine- thank you john mayall and the bluesbreakers- the greatest blues band ever

Àbsolutely brilliant performance from all the musicians!!

I grew up listening to Gary Moore and love his playing. But why so few comments on Buddy Whittington's playing on this tune? Superb touch, tone to die for, dynamics, creative notes, feel, taste, beautiful chords, masterful right hand work, right note at the right time, chops for days, etc. I can go on forever. As far as I'm concerned, Buddy Whittington is one of the finest blues players alive. Two guitar titans on the same stage.

Being a 75 years old fart from Germany I totally agree with you, Mike! Looking back in time I must say, it's not only the younger generation that misses in my opinion something I would call the "foundation" of today's music. It's much more, the spirit , the feeling and the discoverer mentality of the 60's, 70's and maybe , I'm not really convinced of it - the beginning of the 80's in music and lifestyle, both going together like a fist on the eye. In our time we really discovered music, because we as younger people were more or less stiff bored of that what was mostly presented by commercial radio stations. And besides music from Beat to Jazz Rock, Fusion, Pop Rock, Hard Rock, Metal, from Soul to Hip Hop or any other music direction I found out, that the Blues and it's variation possibilities was and still is a kind of music to witch I can withdraw and sink into it. I've seen both Musicians, John Mayall and Gary Moore a few times live in concerts or festivals in the last 40 years, but unfortunately never together on stage. But these memories of both will last until I close my eyes forever!

Totally agreed. I'm still young, 66, missed the early 60s, but moved to London in the mid 70s just to suck in all the vibes, love, music. Saw the greatest bands and learned to play the guitar there

I agree...it's a pleasure to watch band members of this caliber just playing respectfully with each other. This is classic in my book. I will always stop and listen to this.

Blues alone, looking back, blues from Laurel cannon. On and on. John always made great music.. heard him in 65 saw him in 69.

I love you John Mayall and you too Bluesbreakers!!! I have going to your concerts for maybe 50+ years and Gary Moore you are fantastic. I love the Bluezzz... Can't wait til this mess we are going through is over so I can get back on the concert trail. I sure miss that. Stay safe and healthy so that we may see you play again.

Just a regular person but can play the Bluzzz. We were supposed to see him this last year, but was cancelled due to vivid... I am the last person that wants to get covid!!! I hope and pray this thing may be over sometime!!!! Stay safe and stay healthy!!! ✌🎼🎵🎵

You can see music runs through these guys. I'm blessed to have been able to grow old listening to artists like these.

I was glad to have grown up listening to him and seeing gary or Rory play in Belfast.

I saw John Mayall in 1972 in KC. It was a small auditorium, and my seat was right up front. Walking on the Sunset, etal. I recall it like yesterday.

People like these just cannot be replaced.

John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers' albums was one of the first I bought as a young mother when I realized a change was really cooking in music..I think it was in 1966 and I found it in a sale bin. They never quite caught on like the Beatles, haha, even though Clapton might have been playing on that album (not that I noticed). I listened all through the 50s to the black radio stations as a teenager, so got a real education in the blues, so when the Brits started in with some of the same material, it was fascinationg.

This a great jam session, love how Johns vocals started the story with wee licks from Gary, which helped build up to Buddy’s great solo, which opened the doors for Gary tae guide us all through and close behind us , true musicians that are rare to find these days

To me Gary Moore and John mayall means alot because i may not have much experience in this life at 26 but sadly last year I lost the greatest young love I'll ever know ... But at least Gary and a few other acts I have discovered are strictly for myself as selfish at it seems I mean it in the sense of they are the bands and artists that soothed my broken soul when I was locked in a deep and tormenting depression , the music was all I had and to this day still all I have at times when they get hard again The blues is always there in my heart and soul ♾️ I'm just an old blues boy after all so young but I feel so old like my days are already over ... Like John said it I miss my baby I miss her laying by my side ❤️‍🔥 sweet sweet blues baby thats all you need

This song reminds me about my wife. It was her favorite song before she lost the battling to cancer, I wish I could change the hands of time, I miss her smiles, she was always there for me and our lovely daughter, and I never miss a moment with her, life could be so unfair most times, there is some pain, I will cry in vain but won’t let you know how I will feel yes, I will miss you to the core! but some times i wonder why bad thing always happen to good people. She’s always in our heart.

Cruel love engineered this blues, and good music came out of the pain.

Used to shy away from the blues, now its all i listen to. Transcendental.

Saw him 1967 in Hannover. And he is still alive just like us ! I love his harmonicaplay. He is an ldol. Go on John ❤

Gary Moore is and has been my favorite blues player but mad props to buddy Whittington who definitely up there.....he plays so passionately and definitely makes that guitar sound like its crying.....I so love the blues

Mayall's vocals sound great in this video ! .........Blues at its best. Gary Moore and John Mayall .......Wow ! The dynamic difference between Buddy's great solo and Gary's is incredible and so well done by both guitarists. I hope Buddy gets the credit he deserves.

Always hurts to think what more Gary could have given us and where his songs would have taken us.

The word antithesis comes to mind but not with any negative implications. I have listened to this tune over and over. One is soulful and moving and the other is power and speed almost but not quite out of control. Great work!

John Mayall really was my introduction to "The Blues" as a teen. And although I am way more musically sophisticated in the ways of the Devil's music these days, when I think of the blues, British Blues always pops to mind first. The Blues Alone was one of the few albums I owned and I think it went well with my moody, teenaged angst. It was because of John Mayall that I fell in love with the blues and the Hammond B3. You can't believe how grateful I am that I got to live with Mark Pettigrew and got to play with his L100 and Lesley.

It just doesn't get any better than this..it really makes me empathize with it . AWESOME Guys

This song reminds me about my wife. It was her favorite song before she lost the battling to cancer, I wish I could change the hands of time, I miss her smiles, she was always there for me and our lovely daughter, and I never miss a moment with her, life could be so unfair most times, there is some pain, I will cry in vain but won’t let you know how I will feel yes, I will miss you to the core! but some times i wonder why bad thing always happen to good people. She’s always in our heart.

We owe John Mayall so much for the music & influence he has had on blues & guitar music over half a century !

The man still surprizes me. I 'd never heard him on keyboard before. I ll be forever grateful to him for giving the humble harmonica the respect it deserves, and inspiring my own playing.
