It's like riding a bicycle, if the bicycle had 12 wheels : Dyson Sphere program Ep1

Ойындар

The amount of updates this game has gone through since I last played means this is going to hurt. I remember it taking many many hours to figure out how to make production lines work last time. With the new additions I can't imagine it's gotten any easier :)
On the bright side we got enemies now so time for shooty lazer beams.

Proliferators are really good, its a liquid that you feed into those "conveyor tunnels", anything that passes through a conveyor inside them gets the buff and the proliferator liquid itself can be proliferated for extra output. It does increase quite drastically the power consumption at higher levels. You can select higher speed or higher output at the production facility, fuels for power plants get a special buff that just makes them generate more energy.

@@rl53 By puzzles, I assume you mean the production chain paths, like, how many of X resource I need to keep X number of machines running, so I can make X number of other machines, the Anno series might be for you.(my personal favorite is Anno 1800, it can be a bit pricey though, so if it interests you, wait for a sale, or buy an older Anno game and play that until it goes on sale.) May also check out the Tropico series of games. It is the same thing, but with a little twist. You still have your resources and factories, but the resources are limited, and sometimes exclusive to certain places, so you have to set up trade routes as well, on top of the production chain puzzle. Yeah, this genre has been around for a long time.

35:15 when you do get rid of the planetary Dark Fog base, DON'T FILL IN (you'll know when you get there). Geothermal Power Plant instead (will require some advanced production, as long as the Fog difficulty sliders are set to default). Insane ammounts of energy, though, as it'll grab heat from the planet's core, instead of magma rivers on the surface. Proliferation: not required early on, unless you make Mk.2 belts to feed turrets (again, not required on default Fog settings). Proliferate the resources towards ammo to get 1 extra per 5-6 crafted, then, additionally, proliferate the ammo, and each "clip" will get extra shots.

Proliferators are like modules in Factorio. The proliferator sprays items with a consumable spray that you put in through another conveyor belt. If you spray all the ingredients in a recipes you have the option of increased production speed (like speed modules) or extra products (like production modules). If you spray consumable items it will boost things like how many bullets you get per ammo and fuel energy and power. You can (and should) spray your proliferator sprays because it will increase the amount of items that each spray can boost production. MK3 proliferated antimatter energy cells have a high enough power output that you can stay at warp pretty much indefinitely.

  • @matthewbauerle7153

    @matthewbauerle7153

You can also spray research cubes and they'll give you more research per cube. The downside is that buildings working off of proliferated ingredients consume a lot more power. Which is more impactful now because the Dark Fog launch attacks based on power production. That's why the threat level went up so fast after you completed your coal power array.

the distribution logistics system is really handy. it's used to automatically deliver resources to icarus once you run below a certain number. meaning if you set 400 iron plates in your inventory settings, it automatically delivers some plates from an iron plates storage once you run below that number. really handy to use so you don't need to run all over your base to get some materials you need. increase the batch size of your manual crafts. it's a lot more efficient and orderly to craft a batch of 10 than to que up 10 batches of 1. spray everything with proliferator. it gets insane value, especially if you spray the proliferators, granting them extra charges. since it only uses coal as an input for mark 1 & 2 it's fairly easy to setup production. only thing that might get somewhat chaotic is getting the sprays to all of your production lines. when applied to your entire supply chain, it reduces factory footprint by a ton, due to the "free" extra products. in regards to energy, i always prefer to utilize renewables instead of thermal power plants. in the early game, wind turbines are really good. when i get silicon i transition into a equatorial solar power belt, which eliminates the need for batteries since there will always be a part of the belt in sunlight.

Personally I like my solar. I usually build flowers of solar at the poles. Usually I squeeze out 10- 15 MW per pole, and building it at both means the power is steady. Also for power, I like to process the coal into energetic carbon. I think it's more efficient... and if not, then at least it's higher output

The problem with early power setup: if your powergrid goes low on power, your coal miners start to produce even less coal, creating positive feedback loop. Solution: separate fuel resource gathering/production grid from main grid, easiest way is to supply it with wind power generators and place power generators a bit afar from it to prevent tesla tower connections.

Tips, just drag belts straight over other belts, they should auto-hump over the one it's crossing. Add ammo to your ammo box below your power box then select auto/manual fire on your weapon of choice. If a turn is too tight to get a belt into a building try coming out in the "wrong" direction then select the belt and hit reverse direction. (that one gets me out of so many jams) To do the enemy tower use missiles that just are out of range then use the whatevertheircalled big spire things that not only transfer energy a huge distance but also act as radar for the missile launcher to target anything beyond their range but withing the towers range. DO NOT SHOOT THE THING IN THE SKY, until you're ready with planetary shields. Paint the paint and paint the coal that makes the paint, not really worth going beyond tier 1 imo till late game. Oh, and bushes and trees can be converted into organic crystals needed for one of the sciences that would otherwise be a complete pain in the backside and require titanium (more than you get from rocks).

Apparently YT deleted my comment because I added a link to the proper DSP wiki instead of the Fandom one, which is really frustrating. You can probably figure out the link yourself, but I can't share it, because links to any website are scary according to KZread, apparently. Anyway, re-summarising what I was saying, I think that you will definitely benefit from upping the difficulty settings. The defaults are basically pitifully easy, and since they announce all the attacks, you can easily just manually deal with them instead of automating. Having to automate defences is part of the fun, and I think you'd enjoy doing that more. Also, it's worth clarifying that the penalty for death _is_ resetting back to your last save point, and so I highly recommend manually saving before doing anything daft. That includes going to space for the first time. You'll figure out why very quickly. I honestly wouldn't really recommend caring about the achievements, since most of them just make the game less fun instead of actually being achievements.

Advisor tips (the tutorial advice, once you’ve done a couple of playthroughs this becomes annoying): Main Menu > Settings > Miscellaneous. Uncheck the Advisor Tutorial Tips and the Play Opening Animation. For that really irritating voiceover which says things like “Insufficient Materials” and “Replication Complete” and Research Complete” (as if that obnoxious popup for research isn’t enough!): Main Menu > Settings > Audio. Set the System Broadcast Volume to low or off. The last one in particular drove me nuts - that dumb voiceover style went out in the nineties. Here’s a tip to make things easier for playing: once blue logistics are unlocked (splitter, green sorter, and traffic monitor) it is possible to make easy buffers for materials. Put down a splitter, put a storage box on top of it, feed in materials with a belt. It fills up the box (don’t restrict the storage, big reserves are good) and there’s three easy outputs to belt out the contents to where they’re needed. So: mine, put the ore in a box - there’s a buffer for when the ore runs out. Ore to smelters, put the bars/magnets into a box - buffer to pick up from when needed for crafting. Bars/magnets to circuit boards and magnetic coils - buffer box. Make blue science, buffer box before researching stuff - let it build up when all blue is done and red isn’t on line yet. One full box of everything is probably enough. 3k of bars/magnets and 6k of circuit boards/magnetic coils should be sufficient.

Always love your videos, but the lack of efficiency and order is cringe. This video seems like it was rushed and had a "whatever" attitude. I hope you can geek out on DSP as much as you do on ONI. Smart move on jumping straight to coal burning for power, but be careful because you don't want to burn up your finite resource (coal) that is needed for end-game stuff. Also, if you listen to the guy that pops up every now and then, although annoying for things you already know, he will tell you what new stuff they've added. Like Shift+clicking a building/item will select it to be built (including attached sorters) then you can click and drag to make multiple, Shift+clicking whilst in delete mode will delete the whole line of conveyors, pressing U will bring up the "upgrade" interface, etc... Other tips: You don't need to elevate the conveyors to go over other conveyors anymore, if you drag the path over one, it will auto-traverse/elevate over the existing conveyor. When placing conveyors, you can press R to change the rotation bend of the conveyors, or can also go into a mode that doesn't snap-to-grid. I like to stockpile items, not ore. So stockpile iron bars, magnets, computer chips, etc... then you only have to fly over there to get them, instead of making them in your mech. It also acts as a production demand buffer too.

I'd have preferred Oni or Rimworld, I fail to see the point in this game

Francis: It's like riding a bicycle, if the bicycle had 12 wheels. Me: There is a reason why a bicycle is called: a bicycle. bi = 2, cycle = wheels.

I don't know what it is, but DSP has just never hooked me. I've thousands of hours factorio and the like, but something about this is just isn't very fun for me.

The way you do the survey is a bit biaise because the second choice of lots of people will never get vote while the first choice of a minority can get too many votes, it may be better to let people vote for several games or let people rate how much they want to see a game.

Arh, this again? I was hoping for something new... I understand the fan service Francis, but I kinda wish you'd go back to deciding for yourself. Most of your subs has zero clue...
