Caesar is my favorite salad. Love making it homemade and will have to try this if I don't have the anchovies. My local wing place actually has one of the best Caesar salads ever. It beat out some really fancy places I've eaten with ease.

Makes sense intuitively, the may is already an emulsification of egg and oil, the w sauce's main ingredient is salted fish, it's a solid Caesar dressing

Love a good salad. Best salad I’ve ever had was at Hugo’s Cellar at 4 Queens on Fremont street in Vegas. It’s a table side salad where they built it to your liking. Kevmo and anyone else do yourself a favor if you’ve never experienced it. What a treat!

Yes to traditional caesar. Anchovies mashed with some garlic and crunchy salt on the cutting board... Mustard, parm, worchestershire, peppa, I like a lil wine vinegar, and evoo along with the egg [I've only used the whole egg, I hate to waste]. Toast up some cubed baguette in the lil oven, chop up that romaine, throw the last two into the bowl with the dressing ready to flow... Impeccably clean hands get in to mix it all up and I'll tell you, that's the greatest way to dress a salad. Every bite has the sauce. Soooo freaking delicious. 😋👍🥗❤

Looks good, I'll have to try it with Tabasco. We used to do this tableside at the hotel I worked at, and it was (and is) the best ceasar salad I have ever had.

This looks like a easy substitute for Caesar dressing although I do enjoy the traditional dressing including eggs & lots of anchovies. I think I’d probably add a bit of anchovy paste into your dressing but a lot of people hate them. Cheers Kevmo! ❤

When it comes to Old School Caeser Salad, there was no anchovies. People thought they came with them because they were added later as an ingredient. The fact is, the Myth of Caeser Salad's having anchovies comes from the fact that Worscheshire Sauce uses anchovies in it's ingredients list, nothing else. But they were made with a Coddled Egg from the beginning, though. For those who don't know, which I'm assuming is most people, because no one Coddles eggs anymore, a Coddled Egg is when you take an Egg in the Shell and put it in Boiling Water for 30 seconds. Weird, right?

No eggs in the mayo it’s self. I love dairy free!

It's so close to Caesar, you're fine calling it that. The mayo you're adding is the egg yolk, neutral oil, and dijon mustard you find in a traditional Caesar. You're using Worch instead of anchovies, and I make a substitution there myself with Thai fish oil (which is 100% anchovy oil), because storing actual anchovies makes your fridge stink. You might try some nutritional yeast flakes in the dairy free person's portion. It gives the same kind of cheesy flavor you get from aged parm. Just play around with it.

I worked at the restaurant Sweet Tomatoes and to me, they had the best non-traditional Caesar dressing I've ever had. (No eggs, no anchovies, but did include cheese). There were variations we made as employees that were so good! I will have to scale this recipe and see how it compares. :)
