It's great that everything he does is being recorded for future generations.

Ohtani said that his goal in life is to constantly evolve as a human being, who has good moral character. Second, to do that through baseball because it is what he loves to do. Coupled with his mental stamina and intellectual approach to his game. Amazing things can happen. If it weren't baseball, he'd be a inventing something that would serve mankind.

  • @JuanPabloAlfonzo

I really hope he could, but given he won't be pitching enough (less than 162 IP) to qualify for the stat titles (like ERA, WHIP etc) I heavily doubt he will get any votes. Not to mention no one has won a Cy Young without having at least 197+ IP in the modern era (except of course the 2020 winners due to shorten season).

Ohtani got me back into baseball after 10 yrs. But I'll tell you comparing Babe Ruth to Shohei Ohtani is laughable if you know baseball. I mean you can see old footage of Babe Ruth literally running up to the ball to take a swing. Today, Babe Ruth is the guy that caught a home run in the stands without dropping his beer. It's worthy of the golf clap, but no way Babe Ruth even plays in today's game.

You do not understand how to do comparison in sports. You have to compare Ohtani vs his contemporaries with Babe Ruth vs his contemporaries. What is comparable is the level of dominance.

@@dgib1694 bro you don’t understand comparison. Are you talking about a Babe Ruth’s game that didn’t allow anyone except white people to play? That had 9 teams? Bro you see baseball today? C’mon can you even compare? The whole point is you can’t compare. There isn’t even a single person even remotely close to Ohtani’s size back then, his speed, home run power, fastball, splitter, etc… How many more facts I need to spew before you realize Babe Ruth is a little leaguer compared to Ohtani.
