Ohtani truly is that great! He’s Leonardo daVinci. Of our time. Guy strikes out with right hand and hits 430+ feet homers with left arm. He’s got 8-1 record as a pitcher who plays less than all the pitchers and he’s got 40 HR as a batter who plays less than all the batters in mlb. Imagine his record if he played full season as a hitter or pitcher. A Man amongst boys.

Ohtani is underappreciated!! Besides being the greatest pitcher/hitter of ALL TIME, he is a class act! He plays the game with a smile on his face and shows respect to his opponents. Jim, wrong about people not following what Otani is doing. For the first yime EVER I watch KZread every night to see what he's done. I'm also watching your show whenever you talk about him. Anyone who's ever played baseball or followed it knows that we are witnessing something historic and that may never be seen again. We have to savor this moment in time and remember it forever. This young man is doing something no one thought possible and it will end when he can't do it anymore or his team management forces him to choose on position to play. Babe Ruth was a great pitcher with Boston and a great homerun hitter with NY bute Babe never did BOTH at the same time. It would be interesting to see what Zack Greinke could do playing both wayd because he has an amazingly ability to hit homeruns. Yes, keep shouting about Shohei, he's a wonderful guilty pleasure.

And I think what many casual fans dont know or didnt realize (me included) is the preparation and stress on the arm to pitch a game. Having to warm up/prep some days before a game to prepare, and the stress of throwing in a game, evidenced by having to ice down the arm/shoulder after the game and needing to rest some days after a pitching a game. All of this is needed by pitchers, yet Shohei manages to do it and keep playing as a hitter and excelling. It is even more incredible when you realize the routine, stress and rest that pitchers have to go through, and Shohei does this and still keeps hitting.

I hope Angels baby him as much as possible. Treat him like a porcelain glass. Give him special treatments when needed all just to keep him from injuries so he can last as long as he can for a long career. Just that Angels is paying him pittance (two years $8.5mil) means they have no confidence in him. I doubt they will extend his contract before his current one runs out.
