The reef at 11:47 is my handiwork. I've been digging that thing for a month and gotten well over half an ounce out of it. Mind you, the angle of it has made for some very hard work. I've also run into Josh a few times he's a top bloke. If you ever see a silver jeep out that way, pop over and say hello. It's always great to meet new people out in the bush
"...bless his cotton socks..." holy crap I don't know why but that had me rolling🤣
I have officially mined a dredge, words I never ever expected to hear, love it!

Well done Chris and a great day on the coil and good on u Josh for taking him there and getting some yourself
As always a lot of good gold the excitement in your voice you had the Gold Fever 😮no matter how small 😮it is gold 😊 another good video thank you keep digging and keep swinging🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇺🇸🇺🇸🍻🍺✌️✌️🍔😛🍟
Your excitement when you find a piece of gold is absolutely infectious! Cheers me up every time.
My wife says that if it isn't big, it's not worth the effort 😭 In 1984 I was detecting with a Compass 240 in Gulgong NSW and had a huge find. In an old working site a ground depression caught my eye. Detecting gave an encouraging signal, digging down 6" I discovered a corner of a chrome bumper bar. Disappointment soon followed, the EK Holden was still attached. It was dumped, to plug an old shaft (safety). Returning home I told the wife 'Big is not everything'.
Thank you Chris for panning that dredge I have been wondering every time I drive past if there is any gold left on it and always said to the wife there has to be gold on it somewhere 😂👌👍

That old dredge on the Bendigo Maldon rd. It was working when I used to drive by in the 70’s
Thought I felt a disturbance in the force. Now I know who’s tyre tracks went through my back yard. Glad you got some gold with Josh. Might see you at the Expo if you come over next month. Regards Andrew 😁👍
Creswick is awesome. Josh is a great bloke, he is so good at what he does it’s phenomenal. I really like you travelling around and catching up with other prospectors. Sharing the experience and getting some knowledge makes for a great video. Cheers Chris. Ps you would have got a gram out with me 😆

Those were some pretty pieces. Specially the round one that looked like a shotgun pellet. I really love those specimen pieces with the gold just sitting on top. Awesome, Chris!
Seeing the capture bottle reminded me of another way to tell someone is a prospector or rock hound: they've always got and easy open top but securely fastened plastic bottle about, often a repurposed empty from vitamins or painkillers.
Seeing the puddler. Reminds me of using a bucket or 4 of water, 44gallon plastic drum cut in half and a big round nose shovel to get the clay to break up. You puddle it and mix thoroughly for several days before even trying to extract the concentrates. Often the gold would be in the bottom couple of inches of the puddle if you worked it well and you could ditch the top 80% of the mix.
We had a piece of land up behind Wandilligong that had a dredge hole. They had dredged the whole valley. The dredge had been moved somewhere else or scrapped. So many shafts around there. I have some survey maps somewhere that I marked mines on that weren't on it already. There is a huge chasm where they had stoped out a quartz reef from the surface that runs at least 100m down the hill side. Creswick is a great spot too. Lots of holes there still as well. It is weird that you have Lake St George on one side of the road and the water is brown and then a few hundred metres over the other side is the blue lake with bright blue water.
Nice one Chris, good to see a camp out and well done Josh finding a few bits as well👌. Cheers Lee.

Well done. Loving yr enthusiasm whilst prospecting Chris
That was most enjoyable to watch , and thanks for the education!
Awsome. American gold prospectors has a few videos of him getting materials out of the sluice boxes on a 100+ year old dredge in nome Alaska... so now you and him are the only two I've ever seen mine an old dredge
Awesome work fellas , and it was great meeting you lastweek chris 👍
I love the bits of history you include!
Well done Chris, I too have always found something is Cheswick everything I've been there. Problem is its a fair way from home, so its always a trip to work towards. Good to see you catch up with Josh, love his channel as well. Where is tonto? Busy with his own channel! Cheers
Good to see you back in action! Go get that Gold big guy!
Your excitement for all those small pieces is uncanning and awesome. I find 30 or 40 specks and I'm hooting and hollaring too mate😂😊😊
12:30 pm here in Tennessee. I have not eaten. That food looks delicious.
Hello Chris, l got good gold that way in Klondike in 1998.Enough to give my friends a souvenir, regards George.
your laugh is very contagious. thank you for making it fun.
Fun! My cousin lives in Fairbanks, Alaska. There are all kinds of abandoned spooky gold machine monsters out in the woods. I used to have a white dog who would roll in the horse manure and become a green dog. She was good about being hosed off. Thanks!
I don.t know of anyone who has as much fun prospecting as you do. LOL Keep it up please. . . . . love it
Yummy yummy! Thank you for the adventure!
1. yea hot rocks 20% in some areas they are gold. 2. was watching an old timer and he said he used to metal detect in them the wheel things before it became illegal. 3. with your hard rock mining atleast your shotgun pellets now have a use, with the lead/iron in them. 4. suggested upload some of your videos on other website, example Rumble.
Luv to see you having so much fun 😊

Good on Josh for inviting you to his secret spot. Yeah never trust the weather news you got drenched big time, bugger!. Cheers for cheering me up Chris with this hope you have a fantastic day mate 😁😉

Why are the clay busting pits protected, and does that only apply to prospecting or are you not allowed to mess with them in general? Would it be protected if you made a new one? Some laws are crazy like that so I’m curious.
