God bless my hydration vest😁 I through a small ice pack next to the bladder to keep my Tailwind cooler longer with the added (albeit small) advantage of the ice pack next to my skin.

An ice pack is a great suggestion, Karl. Thanks for sharing!

Hey Ralf! In So Florida we have heat+humidity that is awful for running. Being 59 and non elite, i am super conscience abt my runs. Lots of fluids with electrolytes and much easier, slower runs! Great videos! Cheers!

Good video ageless runner! I live in myrtle beach South Carolina and humidity here is terrible. Even in winter it can be bad, what’s frustrating about here is I normally run the myrtle beach marathon and from Nov to February it’s usually cold . But every time race day comes beginning March we seem get heat wave high humidity . The last 4 races half and full I have done at myrtle beach have all been 60-70 degrees with 95 percent humidity . The week before my half October I ran my fastest 13 miler training it was 50 outside…. One week later race day it was 70 with 90 percent humidity I didint come nowhere near close to a pr. Then this past March full marathon was 65 with 100 percent humidity and hit wall mile 19 ran my second slowest full . Despite running my fastest 20 milers week prior. Myrtle beach has been a frustrating pace get a pr have not got one here in 5 years. I may have look for diff race location . Should I try do faster long runs summer? To get use to it ?

Myrtle Beach weather does seem challenging! It sounds like it’s the change in weather that’s giving you issues, i.e., cool during training, then warm/humid on race day. I’m not sure if harder summer runs will help if during the “winter” months most of your training is in cool weather and your body gets use to that. If it were me, and i thought race day might be warm, I might try doing some training runs overdressed in an attempt to simulate warmer weather. Thanks for watching the video and sharing!

Living in central France it's often mid to high 20s centigrade (that 2018 London maratthon was 23 degrees C) mid day onwards. Way too hot for my English/Scottish heritage! So my best advice is go to bed early, and get up very early. Up at 5am and out by 6am (need mug of tea first thing as English😂), and you are repaid by running in a cool fresh summer's morning. And the smug factor having ticked your run off for the day so early will last all day...and possibly annoy any lie-a-beds you live with😂. A good topic to cover, thanks for all you videos. Keep cool yourself🙏

You're spot on, Jo, with running early as dew points should be lower. And, as you said, a cool summer morning is a great time to be out! Thanks for sharing and the feedback on my videos.

Running here in Saudi, around 104 f when I run. Can get up to 120 f at times. Later in July, temps will drop but humidity rolls in.

I wear a hat for UV protection (head & face) and to stop sweat dripping in my eyes. It's lightweight and breathable to minimize heat build-up.
