It's garage cleanup time. New shelves... decluttering... reorganizing...

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

After three years working on the Bugeye it's time for a garage makeover. Time to sort thing out, reorganize things, get rid of things, and generally clean up the garage.
Of course, like any other garage project, this is taking longer that I thought it might. And plans are changing as we go along, partly because I realize how much "stuff" I've accumulated over the years.
In keeping with the "econo" part of the channel I'm using, or re-using, bits and pieces I have on hand. I'm actually up $10 already (as of the day this posted) as the big sheet of pegboard sold!!!
If you have any suggestions for garage organization please leave a comment below!
Just a quick disclaimer... this may not be the "correct" way to do this job but it's how I did it with what resources I have on hand.
We would love to hear from you! If you have a questions or suggestions please leave them in the comments section or send me an e-mail at the address below.

I just wanted to tell you how much your channel has been a help to me... I have a 1992 Midget project I am working on... I have had it on the back burner for about 15 years. I am a vintage motorcycle collector type of person... Probably 15 of them, mostly projects, in my shop... Back in 1960, I bought a new TR-3 Triumph. Something about British Sports Cars,,, lol... I love the old British vintage stuff... Finding your channel has inspired and instructed me quite a bit... All your work making all these videos can not go by without me telling you THANKS... Since I watch them on my huge TV I decided I needed to go to my laptop so I could write this thank you comment... Your project was so complete and to a level that is far above my plans it was great to watch every detail even tho mine is Midget, the info works in most details... Thanks, Rod

If you don't think you're going to need it the future, sell the Bugeye parts to recoup some funds.

That's where the bulk of the budget for the project has come from.

You have recent experience with it, and the results have been consistently good, so maybe refurbish a few of the more durable bugeye parts then sell them? Those wishbone spring seat / A arms, blasted, painted, new bushings, are worth quite a bit more than they are in their current state, right? How much more? Not sure. Worth enough to spend the time doing the work? Great question. Glad you asked. Probably not. $399 each, hubs are $200 each new from Moss. Maybe ebay to get rid of them quick? I am always asking myself this same question, given the horde of parts from my dad and the second horde that came with the 60 Sprite. I went into the basement last weekend (at my mom's house) and there was probably 3 totes of random stuff still down there. A whole transmission, many steel engine plates, two steering racks one with hubs still attached, a rearend, several of the oil filter housings, several oil pan screens, a few generators, etc, etc, etc, so all I see is annoyance at having to find a home for that stuff LOL the thought of refurbishing them for cash gives me hives. Thankfully, we have British Auto nearby, a British car junk yard!! Hundreds of cars, like 500+ in a field. Ben, the proprietor, refurbishes parts, works on cars. Makes the best return selling reburb parts, not new or old parts. You can see it from google maps: maps.app.goo.gl/bew1K3VZ49Z7zC1Y8

Thanks Ken. I've checked the usual suspects and steering parts for drum brake equipped cars don't seem to be listed. So I'm considering saving these parts for a future owner so that they would have the opportunity to bring the car back to original if so desired. I have the original engine and gearbox put aside for that purpose too.
