@@suneater_zeef050 you’d be surprised where you end up meeting people. Making friends definitely gets harder out of school, but once you have a few from work, the gym, the local bar or whatever then you meet people through them and it just kinda grows and changes organically. I just recently kinda joined a new friend group that I met through some mutual friends and I hit it off with a few of them cuz we were all into edm shows. But for starting from scratch if you like move to a new city, joining like Rec sports leagues or other organized activities around a hobby you enjoy is a great way to make friends. Also i never did it but a friend of mine met one of her closest friends on bumble best friend. But the whole dating app but for friends thing was weird to me.

I have a "best friend" who I haven't spoken with in at least 3 years. I even tried to tell her to stop being my friend, but she refused, so I guess she still counts as a friend untill it is stated otherwise

The thing that kinda pissed me off was Nintendo not adding all the old furniture sets, clothing, fruit, and characters from NL and before that, when they had already been doing that for years. Could've been the ultimate AC game but it's like they neutered its potential and cut the game development short. A lot of people ended up migrating back to NL because it still feels more finished than NH even after 10 years oof

Honestly, that is one of the worst things about New Horizons. The villagers never seriously complain about anything any more. They're permanently positive to the point where it is actually creepy.

there's an amazing fanfic on ao3 named ETERNAL HORIZONS by betterbemeta about isabelle and doom guy... highly recommend if you are still not over the fun

I’m genuinely convinced that the IKEA island is an abandoned item trading market island from back in the game’s prime. If it is then it’s a fascinating look into how those places ended up after most part stopped playing the game.

The Ikea island makes me think of my first and only experience with the dream feature, I just had it choose a random island and it sent me to "DIGIMON". EVERY SQUARE INCH of the island was covered in random furniture and the lag was unlike anything I have ever seen in Animal Crossing, especially since my game crashed after looking around in pure confusion. This island has and will occupy some part of my brain for a long time.

I love the cozy direction your content has been going in lately. The last three videos you've posted have been some of my favourites of yours. Also, I love the new avatar so much!

During the minecraft sessions someone mentioned this game when Dan was picking flowers. Must've triggered something

i got this game just as lockdown hit (like most people) and my mum got it as well. i couldnt see her in person for months but this game kept us both sane. we would visit each others islands, go round the museum, and of course hit each other with nets... it sounds silly now but i really dont think i would have made it through without this game! so nice to see everyone else that has great memories as well :)

This game came out right before my dad passed away, it helped a lot with my grieving. He died on Easter morning of 2020, this upcoming sunday is Easter, so he's on my mind. For everything people have said about this game, it will always have a special place in my heart.

Rt and Shenpai seem to be talking with each a lot more. I had the two in my subscription for ages, but it always felt like they were both of their own spheres, so it feels weird to see them in each other's streams. Not complaining, definitely not, it's nice they are talking to each other.

I posted this comment on the archive channel but I wanted to repeat it here cause I think it's worth sharing. That Ikea that Dan went to looks like it might actually be a dupe/or treasure island; islands that contain an infinite number of every item in the game, desired villagers that you can get to move to your island, glitched money so you can get 999,999,999 bells, etc. I assume that because it's a dream that's why the glitched items aren't visible, and that's why it looks so empty. There's usually a lot more items on display as well so you can see what you're picking up, but I guess they took them all down? It could also be an early save/version of the island with most stuff not placed yet.

Don't worry, Shen. Rascal has been doing fine. He has taken to eating the couch for sustenance.

I'm noticing that some players are slowly returning to New Horizons, either through a complete restart, continuing where they left off or just for a moment of nostolgia. It pretty cool to see😊. Now that the virus is gone and updates are complete, I think players can play this game and its DLC at a bit of a slower pace now. Its honestly a great, relaxing time when you don't have to rush and take your time.

22:08 Also RT may be having a goof here, but I do think this touches on an interesting point that a lot of big, hardcore AC fans often overlook - for casual players, coming back to a town after a long hiatus can seem almost intimidating, rather than welcoming. Like, New Horizons isn't actually like that very much. It's easily the coziest and most reassuring of all the games (which is probably why I've played it the most of any AC game), and it really tries its hardest to avoid those pitfalls the rest of the series falls into. But the series spent so long being built on that notion of "it's playing, even when you're not!", that the intimidation factor still exists mentally for most regular people. I know more than a few people who have thought about going back to NH, only to talk themselves out of it when they think about 'picking up all the weeds' and 'hearing villagers talk about how long they've been gone'. Despite the laid-back atmosphere, AC can seem like a pretty big time investment for the average player. It's one of those casual/"hardcore" disconnects that I always find really interesting. It's similar to how hardcore players think NH has "less content" than NL; there's only "less" content because most of NL's big town projects (which were only unlocked via random villager-suggestion) became normal furniture pieces to buy or craft. And speaking as someone who unlocked very few interesting NL projects, I think NH's system is way more fun.

Everyone else: ITS BEEN 4 YEARS!?!?! Me: oh it’s only been 4 years? I thought it came out 6 or 7 years ago.

This video is gonna inspire me to finally get back to ACNH and finally finish my island, something about seeing Daniel's island and him talking with all of his villagers is so sweet to me. Hearing K.K. Soul when he was at Mint's house reminded me that was my favourite song in the game, seeing all of the pretty builds and decorations,, I haven't touched my island in over a year but now I finally feel motivated to finish it

I’m really sick right now so seeing this video pop up in my recommended is a blessing. Love your videos, man!

Thank you so much for the tour of your island! Hope you don't mind if I copy it exactly for my own island. (I'm not creative at all...) Update: In order for the IKEA dream island to have had those cardboard boxes in the empty room at 30:34, the resident would have had to have never set foot in their home a single time. Those cardboard boxes only show up when you first move onto the island while your home is still a tent and they disappear when you interact with them, which makes them the rarest items in the game.

13:18 I was in a similar position with not knowing what to do with my basement. It eventually became a place to dump all my Gyroids and I realised they sounded really nice together with K.K. Dub and my basement became a cute little place to relax when I'm leaving my game idle (ADHD, woo!). Still trying to figure out what to do with my left side room though, maybe I'll hop on at some point in the next few years and figure it out. XD

For some reason, hearing animal crossing was 4 years ago makes the most sense in the world to me. But 2020, being 4 years ago, is insane.

Such a comfy video, brought back many memories much like the Minecraft streams, honestly the best games to go through the pandemic with, including Doom Eternal.

Man what a trip. When NH first released I was in a friend group that had more or less existed for over a decade. Several of us played NH on release and loved exploring each other's islands. Now that group has grenaded. Miss them sometimes but at the end two people sent me the most toxic messages ever and cut all IRL contact. Think it was a good thing in the end, looking back it was a toxic as fk relationship with most of them and they were not good people, was really a life lesson for me. Those that loudly scream "love and tolerance" are often full of hate and vitriol.

Dan and Shen interacting was not something I expected to happen but I'm pleasantly surprised. You'd love to see your favorite creators actually meeting each other.

I remember going HAM on HHA to customise villager houses. I only ever did two of them in the end, Tybalt and Roswell ^^; I was so invested that I ended up making Class 3-E from Assassination Classroom as the HHA school build.

My wife doesn't really play games, and never really did before we got married. The sole exception was animal crossing, where she has more hours on that one game than I have across my entire switch and steam library

This video actually made me download again Animal Crossing to greet my neighbours and maybe re decorate some stuff, then I remembered my SD card stopped working so I had to free up some space in my switch and now with my bad wifi and waiting for animal crossing to finish downloading in about 2 hours Thanks Dan, loved it, love u
