It's All Over

My Fall coffee blends are here! bit.ly/kylefinnscoffee They are organic, fair trade and air roasted by a small family business in Western Massachusetts.
It's the tail end of summer and I'm bouncing back and forth between an ocean-side cottage and my cabin homes in the Berkshire mountains. We make great progress on the ocean cottage renovations and get everything ready for the hard stage ahead, and back home I had a new machine to the fleet, check on Ally's off grid cabin progress and spend time soaking up the rural countryside beauty.

Pull thatDistributor out and move it 1 tooth at a time and recheck, and re start. If you're not picking up the timing marks you might be 180 degrees off from jump. Also you might have to pull the vacuum advance hose in order to get an accurate reading I don't remember.

A new member today. A month ago, MrHandyRU passed on. Two weeks before he was gone, we found your films and we were all mesmerized. If he was anxious or in a lot of pain, we put your films on and we would all be calm. You greatly affected the quality of the end of his life, and I thank you. Have only recently been able to watch again. He was 64 and had the longest battle with brain cancer any doctor has heard of. Diagnosed in 2004, the year the Red Sox first won. We were would have been married forty two years 10/10/23. He never complained, though he had seizures, blood clots, migraines and lost both upper arm bones from steroid s they prescribed. We kidded he was a bionic man with titanium bones. I miss him so much. Sending you prayers for success and buying the land you dream about. With much love, Cat

i am so sad of letting go of summer this time. i guess it's fear of time. i always feel like something terrible is around the corner and when it's summer - even hard times gets lifted just a bit by the sun and all the flowers and all the rabbits and birds. But it will come again next year. i guess i just always fear somehow i won't be there next year to witness it or something. my dad died this year. very suddenly. he had been carrying cancer that finally ended his life. but no one knew he was sick. not even him. so in a flash he was gone. that makes time feel different. you never know what is around the corner. i hope we all see something beautiful in each day. even if just a moment. 💕

Kyle, you’re using the wrong timing marks on that engine. There are two sets of timing marks: the one you were looking at in the video and another on the passenger side of the engine. There should be a little reference tab bolted on to the block that you use for timing. I have no idea why they put those markings on the driver’s side but they’re not the ones you want to use. I have the same engine in my ‘72 flatbed and I have it running like a top. Let me know if I can help.

  • @yeboscrebo4451

Also, on the harmonic balancer, sometimes there is a groove chiseled out of the side that you might mistake for the timing mark that you use to line up with the marks on the engine block. There should also be a small line engraved into the harmonic balancer - this line is the one you want to use for timing. In addition to this, sometimes the harmonic balancer itself is slipping. If you look at it closely you’ll see that it is really two circles of steel fitted together with rubber in between them. When the rubber gets old, sometimes the inner circle can shift within the outer circle and in that case it would be impossible to get the correct timing. It would just need a new balancer - not a big deal with these engines.

Also, do you have a full 12v running to that distributor? Those HEI distributors need a full, switched 12v running to them. Sometimes people make the mistake of tying into the old wire that fed the old ignition coil. That wire only only had 9v going to it because it was fed through a pink resistor wire that dropped the voltage. Just another idea.

Thanks for sharing another great video. The music alone reminds me a bit of the late 80s early 90s. With that you already impress me hahaha.. But waving goodbye to summer and welcoming autumn always makes an impression on me. The area where you live is phenomenally beautiful to see. The golden glow of the late summer sun on the slowly coloring leaves of the Maple trees.. Life outside in the mountainous environment is so peaceful. Country life itself just attracts me enormously. Unfortunately I don't live in such a beautiful world as you.. but thats why i love to watch your videos. And the more i watch, the more I love to visit New England some day. Thanks again for sharing.

Our summertime here in the middle of the US is almost over as well. Every year, there comes a day when we feel the air has changed. My husband calls it “the day”. It means, the day when the typical summer weather is finished, and won’t be back for another year. It’s the day when the transition starts, just pointing to Autumn, but not turning, not quite yet. I love the transition times of the seasons. Thank you kids so much for sharing your experiences. Your stories are lovely.

I found your channel 2 years ago, and watched a lot of your videos, but every time you post with autumn colors, it makes me miss Tennessee.

Just want to say that your videos are the highlight of me and my 3 month old’s week. Keep up the good work and I’ll definitely be buying some fall coffee blends. Happy September to you and Ally!
