Yes, it was a step forward for all male DV victims. I think they feel more shame & fear. You know, I'm a man, this couldn't have possibly happened to me. No one will believe it because I'm a man. That narrative needs to be replaced by doing what Depp did. It's a hard, long road but you can make it all the way there.

Justice has been served. AH's lies that she was a survivor of DV was exposed to the entire world. I hope she's charged for perjury for lying under oath.

It's proof noone is perfect, and it's proof that one cannot be a victim and a perpetrator. The dirty hands theory proved itself here. That money must be paid back somehow, either by selling what you have, or buy negotiating on future income what you can pay. Applause for the jury, too! Unless they've sat on a jury, people don't realize just how much work and sacrifice is involved. The weight of responsibility for deciding someone's future cannot be understood until you've been in that position. Add to that, the huge emotional, mental, physical, and financial sacrifices, especially for a 6wk trial; it is a tremendous burden. I hope this jurors, do not suffer any negative repercussions from this, because they did the job they were required to do, and deserve much respect.

I agree. I like how, Virginia's State law keeps the jurys names anonymous until after the trial, or unless a juror comes forward on their own accord.

This trial did not just prove justice, it did not just show that men are also victims of domestic violence (!!) it also brought millions of people from all around the world together to discuss and get united in a case like this on freaking KZread! We are living in weird times, I guess we can all agree on this but seeing this sort of team spirit and solidarity was a breath of fresh air. I enoyed all of you guys, take care

Well said ‘ !! Ambers lawyers have to be disbarred , they brought witnesses to lie in court who have committed perjury and the lawyers knew this now they are following up a war against Johnny, and they don’t put to rest to this case they have to be disbarred their behaviour is highly unethical, unprofessional and dirty. They must be reported to the Ombudsman.

If the jurors could have seen all the proof she would have lost on that too. There is so much more proof out there (that's not hard to find) that proves she was the abuser and he was the victim. I really hope the courts and cops deal with the fact that she falsely got a restraining order, made false reports to the police, etc. She also perjured herself multiple times. Already Australia and the UK are looking at perjury and other issues. I don't think she will appeal this. If she does it would only get worse for her.

No Dan, it wasn't surprising at all to most of us that Johnny (rightfully) won on all 3 counts.

It’s so difficult to get your way in defamation cases like this so for Johnny to have almost a flawless victory really shows and exposes every lie Amber and her witnesses told.

@@richardbottom9843 His Lawyer was speaking on behalf of johnny, similar to how the Sun posted the Op-ed on behalf of Amber. At least that was my understanding of the situation. Either way that particular statement by Johnny's former lawyer wasn't particularly good and I'm not totally surprised the jury felt it met the standards of defamation.

And the jurors didn’t award Amber any punitive damages - she got 0 dollars. They awarded Johnny $5 million (even though it’s capped at $350,000). It’s them saying that they didn’t believe her.

This result actually should help domestic violence groups. We know how hard it must be for a man to tell his story of having been the victim of personal domestic violence. He put himself out there, raw and honestly, and told his story. Domestic violence happens to men also.

The Judge in London was affiliated with the publication that was being sued. Total conflict of interest.

This trial has placed a very strong reminder and exclamation point on the fact that men can be victims of domestic violence also. This has been a trial, not of man vs woman, but of truth vs lies. Justice has in fact been served and defamation has been exposed.

Imo this trial isn't a setback of the DV issue at all!!!! It's brought out into the open how awful it is for anyone involved & kind of forces the collective to think on it, hopefully come up with new ideas & better laws & better education!

Regardless of how the jury came back, Amber’s lies were blatantly obvious. From the overdramatized testimony, turning emotion on & off like a switch, to hearing her bait & antagonize Johnny, she mocked those of us who are actual DV & SV survivor. No person, male or female, should be treated the way she treated him. My heart goes out to him after this trial! I wasn’t a big fan of him but now I am! Now he’s a hero! I’m so glad that his truth was brought out and she’s been exposed for the monster she is! She’ll probably just “pledge” to pay him the $13M! Congratulations Johnny!
