When Miss Angelina was 11 years old, this military band invited her, to produce an album (It´s Magic) with them. The next year the had the 200th anniversary of existing as a band and all the "important" people were invited. They asked their national treasure to sing and so promote her album. No professional recording equipment were allowed, so the had to improvise with filming. Red, be safe, Elmar from Germany

What is there to say, except that “Girls rock!”…

She takes this James Brown classic, effortlessly into the stratosphere, and then you litsen to her reverse course by 180 degrees and perform the famous Elvis gospel song 'How Great Thou Art' in the same key as him but actually sustains it for far longer within individual lyrical lines that he did. Just an amazing feat of extreme versatility that I've never heard another singer do.

I still think you missed the astonished reaction of the conductor when she did that spectacular belt toward the end. They had rehearsed this many times, then they recorded the full album, "It's Magic," so it wasn't his 1st rodeo with AJ. However, that was the 1st time the conductor heard Angelina live on stage in front of an audience, where she lights up her after-burners. Check it out, it's hilarious!

What’s most impressive is Angelina’s complete physical relaxation, swaying with the music while belting out her own version of soul. And her version is completely legit. Her phrasing, her power, her pronunciation. When a young child from Norway tackles James Brown, you might think it’s a parody, but never with Angelina. It’s complete respect for James Brown, but 100% Angelina showing us her originality and authenticity in another genre.

Best reaction to this performance since I started listening five years ago! This was just a stunning performance, and I have listened to this a couple of hundred times...! It WAS exciting!

There are many other songs done here at this event and an album called It's Magic. It has been on and off the iTunes top 100 jazz albums for years. Please check socials. Peace out.

@@devon7008 Thanks for the tip - I will definitely do that. I was considering it a while back and at the time it wasn’t available. I was kicking myself for missing Angelina (in person) when I saw her in Portsmouth. I was hanging out at the theater after the show with a few Angels and I had a long day and had to bike back to the B&B I was staying at (I couldn’t hang out much longer -big mistake). According to Steve A. I left about 15 minutes too soon. 🙄😥 It occurred to me then that until I can get a copy of AJ’s book, I should probably get the CD…. So I have something for her to sign for the NEXT time I see her in concert! 🤞🙏 😬🥰

This band asked Angelina to do this full album with them call it's magic. This concert was put on for the Norwegian people to sellibate the release of the, It's magic Album. Which is under the orchestra's Name brand. This was also to celebrate the orchestra's 200th year. Angelina also wrote 2 songs, one being song Oslo about here home town, which is one of my faverates.

First few times I listened to this one, I just burst out in incontrollable laughter. The soul, the voice, the power and the attitude! Its just unheard of from a 12y old girl 🥳 Loved your reaction, thank you so much for sharing 🌹

When the band wanted to celebrate their 200th anniversary, they asked Angelina to perform with them. Together they recorded an album of amazing music, called 'It's Magic'. This concert was to launch the final album. This is one of Angelina's masterclass performances. It was recorded on an iPhone, so the sound balance was not the best, but that fight between Angelina and the high clarinet is always fun to listen to. Great reaction!

As a dedicated Angel I have watched this video probably dozens of times. Today I focused on the clarinet section when Angelina first started singing. Smiles and heads shaking. You know they rehearsed (there is video of that), but when Angelina steps on a stage and kicks off her shoes she brings a whole new level of energy and engagement. We can see this in videos of all her live shows, including the LV shows and the 2022 concerts in Norway. As she said, she if meant to be performing on stage. Thanks for another great reaction.

The Staff Band of the Norwegian Armed Forces (Forsvarets stabsmusikkorps) recorded the album "It's Magic" with 16 tracks in 2017/18 to mark the 200th anniversary and released it under their record label Forsvarets Musikk. Because of the special anniversary, they asked Angelina (Angelina was 11y in 2017) to do the vocals on the album. As a special tribute to Angelina, two originals by Angelina were also released on the album. On June 16, 2018, for the official celebrations and tribute to the orchestra, there was this spectacular concert "It's Magic' with many prominent guests including the Prime Minister at the time, Erna Solberg, she has outed herself as a huge Angelina fan 👣💯 *AJ* 💯👣

The two Angelina originals on the album are Oslo and What Is Life. You have reacted to two versions of What Is Life, the home made acoustic version with piano and guitar and the lyric video which has the audio from the album. I believe the album is still available in CD form on Amazon.

I guess it must have been a great boost for Angelina, and a great "school" for her on how recording and making a full akbum. It is still my dearest album of all times, befor her EP. When Angelina was 11, Norway's Military band was about to celebrate a significant anniversary. Having heard what Angelina could do, they invited her to collaborate with them to produce an album, which they did. The album is called, "It's Magic," with Angelina on the cover. It contains maybe 12-15 songs, with only 2 or 3 instrumental. The recordings were done in a studio, so are very high quality. I's a Man's World is one of the songs in the album. She's got a stunning voice, but it just freaks me out to hear a child do some of these mature songs so well. It's like there's a 40 year old soul singer stuck in a kid's body.

Red, and in my opinion this version by AJ is her second best rendition of this iconic song. I know that is probably hard to believe but there is another version audio only from Kongsberg with her band not the military band the same year as this one that is really mind blowing. No professional recording equipment was allowed and the audience was a fair distance away from the stage videoed using a cellphone.
