I’ve always been a longtime fan of this band I was 15 years old when I first heard their music and I seen them at the old fairgrounds inside a tent but of course I snuck in under the corner of the tent but you can’t mistake hearing there sounds flowing through the air at the fairgrounds but anyway White Bird is great but if you’ve never heard there album I think it’s the first one with White Bird they take you on a musical journey and the last song is called Time Is and it will blow you back this Bay Area band in my opinion is way better than most of the bands that came out of San Francisco back in the late sixties and there were a lot of bands like Quick Silver Messenger Service Jefferson Airplane and I can’t remember all of them but thank you for posting this it’s Golden.

I heard them once at Wintergarden, SF. Lots of fun and those were the days. $4 got you a ticket, a handbill, a poster, maybe an apple, and even a joint on some nights!

I have loved this band since their first album. Thanks for this up load as I have never heard this before. A great addition to their repertoire. So much talent and creativity.

Yes they are. From what other people have said, Owsley probably recorded many of these. It seems his obsession was to make the best quality in everything he did.

46:58 so that's where Deep Purple got the organ for Child In Time from, interesting.

Great Bay Area band that lost focus from line up changes . These songs reflect the spacey , philosophical year itself .

I have the cd which also includes a DVD. It’s great of course, but what is kind of strange about this performance is that Mitchell Holman’s bass guitar was the only guitar used. No lead guitar. David LaFlamme could play guitar but didn’t for whatever reason.

I saw this band in the City of Concord California on the outdoor stage of the downtown Todos Santos Plaza. Concord put on a series of Thursday night concerts along with a nice farmers market. David LaFlamme must have been in his late 70's, but he could sure play his electric violin, and his voice was sure and strong. RIP David, you were a fantastic musician. I made sure to take off from work a little early to be there to see the entire set. It was on August 8, 2019 (David passed in 2023) and here is video posted on KZread. kzread.info/dash/bejne/X4dlutlupLmcfto.html

Saw Beautiful Day around this time at Filmore West. They opened the show. Followed by Pentangle then the Grateful Dead. Around 12 AM Pentangle did a second set and again followed by the Dead. I left about 4:30 AM. There was about 30 people left in the audience. Those were good musical times. Assume amount to music $4.50. Beautiful Day always on top of their shows. Much better then most Bay Area groups at the time.

Wow. Let my envy flow like water. What a triple bill. Pentangle made such unique and beautiful music. They played two sets and the Dead also played two? And it went on into the wee hours. I didn’t know the hall would stay open that late. Thanks, Carl, for sharing that memory.

Between equipment change from Beautiful Day and Pentangle Bill Graham had juggler perform using cigar boxes. Those were good concerts. An old rocker from way back. A little weed and still a concert now and then. No $3.50 - $5.00 anymore.

This is It's A Beautiful Day. They were supposed to be the opening act at Woodstock, but they got caught in the traffic jam so Ritchie Havens opened instead.
