I'm not sure how they managed to do it but I would be leaning on copious amounts of caffeine. Which means that, under ideal circumstances, I would be multitasking between being super dialed in and also distractible by everything present, having a blast, and by the end quite likely in a state that, aside from driving everyone around me insane, would give a court cause to declare me legally incompetent until I got about three days of uninterrupted rest and a checkup from a doctor. And that's the best case.
ally beardsly has really, truly inspired me to just say the most random things that aren't particularly funny on their own and then roll with them so long that they become incredibly funny running gags

Lol yall they had to film in a warehouse bc due to the marshal shutting them down they had to be on a real timecrunch to film. So they shot multiple episodes back-to-back in a very cold warehouse. They talk a lot about it during the adventuring party for ACOC. I remember Emily talking about how for one episode she made the mistake of putting on a t-shirt and they had to stop filming for a bit because her teeth chattered so loud the mics picked up on it.

IIRC it had to do with Covid safety protocols - in The Seven, they were further apart, and it wouldn’t have fit in the dome. After that I think it was just more convenient to use the walls, especially since it allowed them to do projections.
1AM in a warehouse is peak chaos energy for D&D.
two things i love most about this is how its like a fun little transition timeline for Ally, and also how Brennan sings Ebonyyyy
My favorite matchbox 20 song is “ It’s 3am and I’m in a warehouse.”
Finding out that the warehouse is REAL is such a moment for me
My favorite one was Siobhan saying they were in a truck or something being moved across the country 😂
WHO'S CRYING?!? Def not ME!! Love this show. Love this cast. Love our fans! Cheers to many more 3am D20 giggles in the coldest warehouse Rancho Cucamonga has to offer!
I'm also charmed by the timeline of Ally slowly getting more masc, in both the thumbnail and the video.
oddly enough this is a great transition timeline for beardsly
I always really appreciate hearing when Brennan remembers the *first and last names* of the his crew, and the people who have worked on certain things. He always shows them love, and makes it clear that there’s a really dedicated team making D20 what it is. I really love that. Would be a dream come true to work for someone who is that thoughtful!
Definitely thought this was a bit. But painted this way, my new head canon is that Beardsley has been shouting out Ebony this whole time.

I love the fire marshal bit. I have personal experience of walking on scene, looking at the former homeowner and wondering why he thought burning his scrap wood pile next to his house was a good idea.
I'll always smile whenever the cast shout out the crew. I love how grateful they are, and how willing to give praise to the work done by people *not* shown on camera 💙
Very similar energy to "there is a horse LOOSE in a hospital!"
Brutal, just brutal. You guys are heroes for being so great in those conditions. And Ebony is a star! I once moved an entire 300 person wedding up stairs into another area, in an hour. The whole shebang.

The fact we are living at the same time on earth as these great people is astounding to me. And that time? 3:00 AM in a warehouse.
"you have been sung" ❤

I can't stress enough, Ally and Emily are my favorite d&d players ever. Their chaos is what the world needs. Chaotic Good and Chaotic neutral together (that looks like it's spelled wrong but ok) change the world.
Ok but WHY were they in a warehouse at 3am??? Like that’s peak “I feel like you’re going to murder me but I trust you as a friend” time, location, and energy.

Warehouse was because that was the only place they could film and not get in trouble with the fire marshall, since they had to move the set on short notice. 3am was because they all had regular jobs that they couldn't stop doing for College Humor during the week, so they basically filmed late at night in order to get the shoot in on a tight schedule.
@MorganBondelid

also they tend to film D20 seasons in concentrated blocks of time (a weekend or a few consecutive days) probably both for continuity and keeping the players in the story as well as the ability to get all the people together because everyone has conflicting schedules
