Zack and Wiki is one of my all time favorites. I really think it is criminally underrated.

I'm not a big nintendo guy honestly but I constantly come back to light gun games with the wife on Wii. Two games I really love you didn't mention are Real Heroes: Firefighters, a light gun fireman game and Tatsunoko vs Capcom, a super fun and approachable 2d fighter.

I’d have to add endless ocean, kororinpa and Mario tennis. So many games got overlooked because of the slough of shovelware.

I really like the Wii. The best of the best are top quality games.

Due to life issues I haven't touched the Wii in a long time. The only games I remember playing much of was Disney Epic Mickey and Ninja Turtles Smash-Up. Actually I think I spent more time playing games from the virtual console than the games that came out for the Wii. I almost finished Ys and played a lot of the first TMNT NES game. I was just looking at my collection on Gameye and weirdly the most valuable Wii game I own is Wii Sports that came with the Wii. Why is that worth $24?

I love the Wii. I had this massive library of cool games and I'm still finding cool games. Gran ted a lot of the games I'm . Granted a lot of the games I'm finding now they're not as good as a lot of the other games I found over the years. Except for like maybe one or two that are just games that I've been meaning to pick up and finally got around to it.

I love Donkey Kong Country Returns on the Wii too. I'll take any Donkey Kong i can get. Yep even Tropical Freeze and dk3 as well. Man I love me some RE4 but I've never played it on the Wii. I know we I have it that might give me an excuse to play it again 😂😂 Jay, I was going to be filled with immense sadness if you didn't mention New Super Mario Bros on the Wii. One of our absolute favorite co-op games! You're right, it isn't perfect but it's great chaotic fun and a hell of a good time! Punch Out is near and dear to our hearts as well. Scott and Alex played it so so much!! Great picks!!!

As someone who only recently got into these consoles - I love your lists! Helps me find overlooked games. On Resident Evil 4 - I kinda disagree that all versions of it are good. I tried playing the original PC release back when it came out and it was TERRIBLE. They did a really crap job with the port, aiming and controlling Leon was so frustrating on keboard. Really put me off of the franchise. But when I tried it on Wii couple of years ago it was just perfect, became one of my favorite games of all time. I genuinly believe the Wii version is one of the best ways to experience it.

I sat here waiting to hear how the Luigi controller tasted and am left disappointed. If there's one game on the Wii that I feel is an absolute must play and requirement for any game party, it is Bit Trip Complete. Just sit down with your Wiimote(after you're done chewing on it) and start up some Bit Trip Beat and you won't put the Wiimote down for hours. It's like a Pong/schmup crossover plus a lil bit rhythm game. Check it out when you get the chance, you'll love it.

Bit.Trip Complete is a fantastic suggestion - I'd forgotten they were on the Wii! And it was pretty good. A little bit lacking in flavor, but not bad overall.

The PS2 original Resi 4 is not a good game. The original Resident Evil game is peak PS1, I'm surprised you didn't get on with it 😮 The Wii has very few games I go back to, but you're spot on about modern TV light gun games. The Wii really nails it. Excitebots looks fun though 👍

I liked Metroid the other M. A lot of Metroid fans hated this but when I first bought the Wii Metroid was out I also have Metroid trilogy prime but wish I could’ve played that without the nunchuck which I didn’t really look into but Metroid other M I was locked in and love it. Wii sports is will always have a special place in my heart. And of course the other two reasons I bought the Wii was new super Mario brothers and Punchout! Me and gfs I dated and family enjoyed the heck out of this game! Anyways that’s my two cents worth on my thoughts

100% yes, RE4 is best played on the Wii! One game that might look like shovelware, but is a great party game is Kabooki from the Cranium company. If you don't have it I say be on the lookout.

Enjoyed quite a few “light gun games” on the Wii but there should have been many so more light gun arcade titles ported over as it was a perfect fit for those games, like so much better and accurate than traditional flash hit boxes. Missed opportunity IMO as the Wii received far too many gimmicky games just didn’t play that well with the motion controls.

Great list! I love the Wii and Wii U. I didn't catch any RPGs on the list, so I'd add The Last Story. You can't go wrong with an RPG produced by Hironobu Sakaguchi with the soundtrack composed by Nobuo Uematsu. What a fantastic game. I used to go back to Xenoblade, but the definitive edition on the Switch is...the definitive edition. I also go back and play Rayman Origins with my daughter every now and then. She loves that game to pieces.

Good list, other than New Mario Bros. That game just felt dead and lifeless to me. My young adult daughter keeps going back to Rhythm Heaven Fever. She is trying to get a perfect on every level. I'm glad I picked that one up before the price went through the roof.

Wii sucks for me haha. I just dont care to go back to it. I was in college at the time so couldn't afford games and played smash bros brawl and thats it. Hope you enjoy yourself though
