I swear you would love the Vita. Mod Nation Racers, Sly Collection, Sly Thieves in Time, R&C Collection, MGS Collection, Ninja Gaiden Collection, Marvel vs Capcom 3, Dead Or Alive 5, Need for Speed: Most Wanted and many more are all great PS3 games. They also all have flawless Vita ports! They play marvelously on the go. The Vita was a PS3 in your pocket. It even had native versions of franchises like Uncharted, Killzone, and Resistance

For me it's largely about the fighting games. This was the era fighting games made a big come back. Street Fighter, Tekken, Marvel vs Capcom, Mortal Kombat; all these franchises were revived thanks to the excitement of Street Fighter IV coming out in 2009. One game I plan to try is Street Fighter x Tekken, a crossover title that only happened once this generation. I also want to revisit the NBA Jam HD version and Top Gun Hard Lock. I had both of those games on 360 back in the day and would love to play them again. A PlayStation exclusive sports series I've always loved, Hot Shots Golf, had a couple titles on here. The one I'm trying out is Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds.

The Ratchet and Clank series is top tier. One of the only mascot platformers/action games that’s still around from the ps2 era! Great video brother!

A couple of people have already said it but Puppeteer is a stellar game that you need to check out

Hi Jay, I’m sorry it has taken me this long to finally reach your channel and subscribe. I think it’s pretty cool that you worked at EA! Also, I have to say that I’m glad you included modnation racers as that game to me is a very good hidden gem!!

I mean I have to have to mention The Last of Us obviously, That was our main reason for buying a PS3 and we bought really late as well. Also God of War 3, phenomenal! And the uncharted series got its start here as well. Happy you mentioned 3. While it doesnt get a lot of love, i enjoyed it. I am slightly concerned about the Batman games on the PS3. I think I probably should have played those before spider-Man on the PS4. My concern is they won't hit as hard now going backwards.

Most of my favorite PS3 games are actually digital titles that I collected over the years: Beyond Good & Evil HD, DuckTales Remastered, D&D Chronicles of Mystara, Scott Pilgrim vs the World, and the X-Men Arcade game. A couple of physical games that I enjoy that you didn't mention are Heavenly Sword and Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions. Shattered Dimensions is written by comic author Dan Slott and the four versions of spidey are all guys who voiced him in various cartoons. Love it.

Great games, Jay! I don't think there's enough PS3 love out there. I have a copy of Alpha Protocol as well and I'm dying to play it at some point. Even with a few bugs here and there, it looks like such a unique experience.

Hundreds of hours in PixelJunk Monsters (digital only for full game; base game on disc in a collection but pricey) and Hot Shots Golf 5 & 6. Physical release of HSG6 is Japanese only but I prefer the Japanese voices. PS3 was such a great system and it was the beginning of my collecting journey in many ways.

I'm glad you figured out the capture and talked about the PS3. It always seems to be the odd one out when it comes to my consoles. And looking back at it, I think the main reason is I never cared for the Dual Shock 1/2/3. primarily the analog sticks. But when I do play, I tend to go back and play MotorStorn: Pacific Rift, The Puppeteer, and Hot Shots: Out of Bounds. There really are a ton of great games and I tend to forget that so thanks for the reminder. If you like Mod Nation, try LBP Karting if you haven't. It's essentially MNR 2 but with LBP characters IMO. Wow, I didn't expect the darkness to be on here, but I do remember that game quite a bit when it came out, I remember renting it from my college library, I felt like I had figured out something that no one else knew when I realized you could rent video games from the library. Could rent them for like 2 weeks at a time free. I remember they always had red faction gorilla, darkness, for speed hot pursuit, blur, and just a bunch of random 2008 2009 games. That was a very original title when it came out and I do remember thinking it was pretty good.

If you like Tales of Graces you might also like Ni no Kuni, because combat seems very similar. NHL: Legacy Edition is as good as any modern hockey game, and if you feel like messing around a bit, you can download modern rosters for it, even if you will have to do without some of the player names being spoken in the commentary. I still play it regularly.

Great video jay you probably already know but MGS4 is a must but the best of the psn vol. 1 is a great collection too! Tokyo Jungle is a must play!!

The PS3 was a rough generation. Lots of games with bad controls, bad graphics, bad framerates. The Dual Shock 3 stinks. The PS3 couldn't handle its mulitmedia functions and crashes constantly whenever using the video. That said, it took chances and had a lot of great games from legendary franchises

If you like The Darkness, I highly recommend you pick up Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena. It's a full HD remaster of the original Xbox release Escape From Butcher Bay and a sequel to it in one. If it's not the same Darkness engine, it's a damn close one. Fully voiced by Vin Diesel too. Spec Ops: The Line is incredible. Buy it and play it. I refuse to give you more info because you need to go in blind. The Godfather: Don Edition on PS3 is really good. The PS3 Twisted Metal is really solid. Infamous 1 and 2. Resistance Fall of Man.

Assassin's Creed 3 is so good. It was my favorite until Origins came out and took the top spot.

Alpha Protocol has to be the buggiest game I've ever played lol I still remember kicks not registering with enemies and the overall jankiness but it was a phenomenal idea

I have a lot of play time on my PS3 and thats with me being super late to get one as well! Heres some games i totally recommend! The Resistance Trilogy (2 in particular) Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time Ridge Racer 7 Dark Void Infamous 1 & 2 Final Fantasy XIII Killzone 2 & 3 Twisted Metal Heavenly Sword and if your willing to get some pricier games 3D Dot Game Heroes Puppeteer Folklore

Oh man ps3 is great i just finally replaced my ps3 and games are so cheap for it just got me god of war 3 today cuz someone borrowed and never returned it for $10 and borderlands2 for $5. Ive gotten lots of cool games for $10-15 recently. But id recommend the resistance trilogy
