Sir I have no words for describe how great a work you are doing with this series. It is like a heaven for AR's fans. Please keep going, never stop. Please bring Shreya Ghoshal, Sonu Nigam and Alka Yagnik and discuss all songs they sang for AR. Please also bring the maestro himself, and if possible collect questions from his fans before bringing him in. I would most importantly like to ask him why he is kind of losing his touch recently. Gone are the lush interludes, experimental spirit, flute, strings, instrumentals, etc. which made the "Rahman sound". For exmaple, Ponniyin Selvan: I is nothing compared to old Mani Ratman gems like Bombay, Roja, Thiruda Thiruda, Dil Se.. and even Raavan and Guru. Another example: if in old days 5 or 6 out of 6 songs of his album were up to the mark, now this ratio is maybe 3 out of 6 songs. Some recent such examples are Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu, Mili, Cobra, Heropanti 2, Dil Bechara, Bigil, Sarvam Thaala Mayam, Kaatru Veliyidai, etc.

Shankar Mahadevan ji and Hariharan ji added variety in tamil playback singing in 90s. As soon they are introduced by Rahman sir they became overnight singing sensations in south india

Please bring director Shankar to the show. It might be hectic, but his specificity and ARR's consistency with him deserves a couple of episodes. And given that Shankar spends an unholy amount of money and effort to picturise those songs, it would be so great to hear from him. Anyway, keep going and also include covers whenever possible. 😊 This series is truly inspirational..

Alka Yagnik and Rehman ji had some greatest melodies ever… ❤

Latt uljhi suljha ja re Balam by AR, came as a major surprise as I never knew him as a singer. As Shankarji put it, his voice comes through with a soul. After listening to Rehman, I didn’t have the appetite to listen to anyone else sing this song.

Yuva was an underrated film like Swades.

I wait through the week for the next episode of this series and have watched every episode of this series at least twice. I cannot congratulate you enough for the wonderful way you have conceived this series, the love and respect with which you have conducted the interviews, the unhurried manner in which you have interviewed the guests. Just amazing ! Keep up the good work and Mr. Agarwal you have done a great job and I presume that you are not a native tamil speaking person but your love for ARR's music, and homework for each episode is tremendous.

I relate to Mr. Agarwal because I am myself not a native tamizhan but who had lived in Chennai and gone to college through the 80s and early 90s just about the time ARR made the splash with Roja. I have seen the idol worship of Illayaraja in the 80s when all you heard in the college canteen were his songs and the dramatic shift which happened when ARR burst through the scenes. I remember hearing the Roja soundtrack in Tamil in Indore where I had moved for work and a friend got hold of the cassette tape. The entire feel of the album was different. The bass run of 'kadal rojave' was nothing like anything I had ever heard before. I was an instant fan. I remember I came back to Chennai to meet my friends who were mostly Illayaraja fans and told him this guy is going to change everything. Of course most of them smirked at this outrageous suggestion. Over the years I have heard all of his albums especially the early tamil movies, Pavithra, Jeans, Aayitha Ezhuthu, Kandukondain ...., Muthalvan, May maatham, Iruvar. It makes me happy that I am part of a community of fellow ARR lovers. Love you guys !!

So many questions covered and overall another thorough episode in the raining 🌧 of his wonderful insights. Moment of the Day agreed 💯 percent! Ofcrs, other noteworthy moments include how it rained in Kerala when he sang, the long line of ppl in and out of his studio resembling a clinic, how Don song was the actual song used in Jai Ho picturisation, he’s admiration for Rahman and other singers as well and how young musicians emulate Rahman like the case it was with other singers, his admission that Rahman loves to compose bgms a lot too and so on. Among all these things, I felt how lucky would be SM to witness a whole range of people and musicians from three to four industries at that time which I’m sure would we be one of his major nostalgic moments down South and with ARR. Also, his appreciating Rahman highly even as a singer (though he didn’t mention Maa tujhe Salaam among his favourite Rahman playbacks) was even more adorable and that’s what qualified it to be perhaps, the Moment of this light hearted episode!

Dera sir... Mr. Rahman now records in various studios. There is a possibility... that Mr. Mahadevan recorded for PS1 & 2 in Mumbai. That's what he meant. Regrads.

@O2india often noticed and in this video too around 6:10 and again later asking about Tamil song . Isn't it better to ask an open ended question. Than suggesting options is this and that, did you this way or that way . Just a suggestion

Ir was oudatdd thst is why he is gone.anirudh will not last long arr songs will be remembered for years .anirudh songs are for now .nobody will listen them in future ..arr is evolving composer .he doesn't have maintain sane style. This guy anirudh keeps composeing same mass nothknbg unique .selevraghavsn he appreciated mamamanan song that he hasn't heard skng in tamil for years .What did he compose ? Any cult classic songs? He is masala composr. Rahman composed all genres .what did anirudh achieve in music. Rahman still composes in tamil malayalam hindi .in tamil anirudh composes trashes mostly .he is still only on tamil. Tamil songs are now mass and masala because of anirudh . What he composes mostly vijay films and trashes like darbar .who told he us overtaken? Even Jawan was rejected by arr I went to anirudh .he rejected project k gone to santosh .all trash movids composed by anirudh .content movies are by arr. All big movies content which music is imp go for arr. Masala films for anirudh . Why anirudh doesn't compose in hjndi ?
