Bro validating is right, i've been hard stuck at this rank since dinosaurs roamed the earth and was gonna say the same thing. Everything they're going through is sooo relatable. The toxicity of other players (loved hearing retals say to turnn off chat, it's honestly the move), the fluctuation between hopelessness and motivation/determination, seeing opposing players randomly popping off for no reason (and doing the same myself occasionally)...this series has captured the whole spectrum of emotions that i experience playing rocket league and two of the best in the world are going through it. I can't help but laugh bc of how validating it is.

@@2CamBad i dont get how players get stuck bellow champ. After champ in 1s, you start getting some really good players, but before it, they just don't play 1s at all and generally suck. Some D3 players in 1s are ok, but that's like 1% of the D3's.

If you want, I could self-reflect on here as to why I struggle to get past this rank but that probably isn't what you're looking for lol. Probably doesn't help that I'm inconsistent with my hours so that's probably the biggest issue. It's kinda tough to fix too bc the game just isn't very enjoyable anymore. After they got rid of the occasional item drop after matches forever ago, and also changed the rocket pass from being random after tier 70, it doesn't feel like there's a reward for grinding the game anymore. And it gets worse with each update. TLDR: probably just stuck bc I'm old and trash. And also bc my motivation to improve takes a hit with each bad game change/update.

@@2CamBad so you aren't stuck. You are lazy lol. Yes I was looking for an actual answer. It just didn't make sense that you get stuck against players that aren't grinding. If you grind you get better, its just fact lol. But I agree, I basically quit after I lost my rank up game to gc2. It's not as fun as it was, but for me that's because to get better is a massive commitment of time. Try The Finals it's been super fun and competitive so far.

Y'all should do some workshop maps together. Free play is good as the only training for SSLs, but you guys actually need to re-practice mechanics that you've already learned. This is my favorite rocket league series though, keep working at it!

Speed flipping is not necessary as well. Leth made a point to never speed flip in his gameplay and he's SSL of course.

it makes 1s a hell of a lot easier though. you win every single kickoff up until champ 1-2 by just knowing how to speedflip well

@@wi1h Not true. It's more so where you flip into the ball and which direction you go. You can speed flip and still lose every kickoff to a terrible player just by hitting the wrong side of the ball or flipping incorrectly. But if you hit the right spot and flip correctly, you will often win even with a slow kickoff.

This is the only series of RL where diamonds and champs are giving advice to pros 😂

it's so cathartic to see a couple of pros understand what it's like to be at this rank and to just constantly get flamed every second of every game whenever you aren't perfect (which is always because that's why you're at this rank)

As an ass rl player myself, I think you guys just need focus up on kickoffs-you know what to do you just mess it up usually. There’s nothing more demoralizing than losing every kickoff-I think that’s mostly responsible for the slump. Also, backboard defense against aerials is probably the way to go when u have no mechs, not sure why u don’t use it more often

It's ALL about consistency at these ranks and you guys on 2 pros 1 keyboard just aren't consistent with it yet. Just like how every other Diamond player isn't consistent at anything yet. This is a real eye opener in terms of game sense and decision making and i really hope this series continues

I think you fall into the same trap as the rest of us start to get a little more mechanical and then try to do too much when you’re inconsistent. Let the opponent mess up and then counter. Been enjoying watching the struggle tho thanks gents .

Y’all should try doing the Flakes 1v1 strategy with no mechanics. With your game knowledge I’m sure you’d skyrocket ranks. It looks like you guys are trying things that are normally easy mechanically for you, but when telepathic communication is required for the perfect timing… it’s a toss up when it works and when it doesn’t. To unlock consistency, I think going far more basic is the only way to rank up. For real, try the Flakes method. Y’all would KILL it.

The gameplay is subpar to what we are used from you guys but this is really fun to watch xD

Love the series. I think you should do a head to head on kbm to decide who gets to do which role. Also I wouldn’t consider it cheating to re-bind the keys. I. E. Who says jump has to be on the mouse? You could try to give controls that often go together to each side, that way you give yourself a better shot.

I think the main issue isnt really one person committing to play and the other isnt, It’s more of both of you have different ideas of how to handle the play, and when its a split decision, its one hand not coordinating with the other. Keyboard player has to call EVERY play to confirm the decision

The true ranked 1s experience for under GC: destroy true low ranks one match, get slammed by the GCs that don’t play 1s often the next. It’s damn impossible to rank up without great mechanics and insane game sense

Also, I think the biggest issue you have with the current games is not being on the same page as to what you want to do. You are constantly missing goals or being out of position because you misunderstood what each other want.

I don't think that bigdaddy guy was being toxic... He said what a save only when you scored, and said close one when he scored. He was trying to be nice.

I think Retals is def better on the KB and Jack on mouse. It looked at lot more consistent and Retals playstyle is easier to replicate/understand along with him comming more.

@@MSN539 but like, no matter the score line, and JackxRetals could only score 3 goals with one of them being on controller. Then they'd had to go back to their 2v1 antics - but they'd be punishing toxicity while not winning entirely because of it
