Abandoned & Forgotten Places
Documenting abandoned mines like never before!
Let's take abandoned mine exploring to the next level!
With your support you can help make this the best abandoned mine exploring channel on KZread!
Shot entirely in 4K! ...so, turn up those video settings!
On this channel we go deep... REALLY DEEP into abandoned mines and tunnels all throughout the western United States. We researched some of the harder to find mines and hiked or 4x4 back into them to explore and reveal their hidden secrets. Many of these remote locations are filled with cool artifacts, antiques and unique geology that will have you guessing as to why the old prospectors worked so hard to find gold, silver, and other minerals.
A&FP moves just a bit slower as compared to other mine exploring channels. Gly discusses why the miners chose these sites and he points out the geology and minerals that got them excited. Veins of quartz filled with gold and silver made many men lose sleep in the 1800’s and early 1900’s and modern prospecting still does to this very day.
DANGERS? Oh yes, there’s allot of dangers associated with old mines. Un-exploded dynamite, blasting caps, bad air, bats, spiders, and snakes all find their home in abandoned mine shafts and tunnels. Oh, and let’s not forget rotting timbers, flooded passages and collapsing rock!
Gly takes abandoned mine exploring seriously with all the proper safety equipment, training, and experience necessary to do this activity as safe as possible but that doesn’t mean we can’t have a bit of fun along the way. “Gly”, your host and his band of crazy characters “Old Bob” (Gly’s Jeep), “Quackers” (Gly’s duck) and “Bobbie” (Gly’s hula girl) are sure to brighten your day with their comments and silly antics. Heck, they may even give you a chuckle or two.
Just like Saturday morning cartoons before the internet was invented, Abandoned and Forgotten Places uploads each Saturday at 7:00AM PST. (that’s 10:00AM for you eastern folks) so don’t forget to click that subscribe button and bell icon to receive notifications of new episodes!
Please LIKE, SHARE, SUBSCRIBE and COMMENT! All these things help grow our channel and your financial support helps us find new locations and helps put fuel into “Old Bobs” tank. Old Bob, thanks you!
Ok, now for the ugly stuff...

I can confirm that this mine just keeps going and going. Gly and Randy popped up in my backyard in Arizona yesterday afternoon. Thought we had a sinkhole until I saw their mugs peer up over the edge. 😄

Awesome!! That was kinda like going thru swiss cheese. Here's an idea for all mine explorers out there--take your business card (actual card) and attach it to the entrance of the mine shaft you started in--then DO NOT deface the inside. Miss seeing Mr M but wonderful to see more of Randy. Thanks Gly for taking us along!! Looking forward to the next one.

It amazes me all the time how much history is carved into those mines and artifacts. A well equipped and organised museum can't compete with this stuff. The more recent artifacts left do also tell their story, layer opon layer. Thank you for brining us with you! (And happy 4:th to you American friends)!
THIS IS A GREAT MINE.
Randy, thanks for coming back man
Love my Saturday mornings, hot coffee and my mine exploration from my recliner. Thank you Gly, Randy and Mr. M,. I have many times wondered about mines, workings, and what clues miners looked for to start the dig. You have answered many the questions. Keep up the great work.
I'm glad to see Gly pronounces Worcestershire the same way I do! Cheers from Canada.
Man, they worked the heck out of this mine - it just keeps going down, like a bottomless giant ant farm deluxe or Get Smart's secret underground headquarters beneath DTLA's HoJJ (Hall of Justice Jail)!
Coca Cola syrup was indeed bottled in gallon glass bottles. That bottle was original. Thank you for another great video.
Thank you for discussing the minerals.

That's the forever mine. It doesn't end. Artifacts are way neat. I have lost respect for Boxy because he broke some rules about mine exploring. Not cool people. Thank you gly. Randy. Great video. And be safe out there.
Thank you for bringing us this excellent video. It is absolutely fascinating, this old mine just keeps giving more and more. It is great to see these artifacts.
Love that you've brought your amazing intro back - I've missed it!! It's great to see & hear more of Randy. He comes across as shy and quiet, which I can relate, so it's nice to see him seeming to really enjoy the mine explore. Of course Mr M is missed, but hopefully he's enjoying his weekend with his missus and he'll be back soon :D Thank you for another great mine explore. I can't wait for next weekend's episode. The sneak peek at the end is tantalising. Happy 4th!!
Yes!!! My favorite show is uploaded!!!
Worked in big movie theater in late 60's, concessions stand used the coke syrup in drink machines and added carbonation with big CO2 bottles. Janitor used the syrup in ceramic bowl behind the counter so rats would drink it and it killed them. Handled many of those exact bottles myself. DID not drink the syrup !!!
In the subject of mine tagging; Anyone who goes inside a mine should view it as entering a forest or coastline beach, leave it as you found it and take only photos and leave only footprints. Also an idea for another bumper sticker- “I will not buy mining artifacts”
Who dug these mines? I plant 4 tomato plants in my garden and I'm spent.
At 35:10 that's a great view of your empty holster. Lol I hope you didn't lose something in there. In all reality I love your videos like this.

That label on that jug was original. It was a 1 gallon bottle of syrup they sold in the 60's. That was probably actually the original contents. Sweet find.

Yay! So stoked!! Thanks Guy!! 🥳🥳🥳
That Coca Cola bottle/ jug is the real thing from the 60s or maybe earlier. So many times I drove through Gold field and Tonopah when I use to haul Lime from Vegas to the round mountain gold mine for the processing plant, always wanted to be able to stop and explore the area. Fascinating area with such geology. If you love exploring mines Nevada is the place to be for sure.

Another great video. Randy is starting to get a bit more adventurous following you deeper into some of these mines. 👍🏻 Nicely done Randy!
At 37:20 that's a Coke syrup bottle, the Coke fountains and coin-op pop machines used it, poured into buckets in the machine then water added as it was dispensed, my old boss ran a bunch of those machines in the 80's.

A good cult classic👍🏻 I have all 7 movies and the TV series on iTunes and still love watching the original “Tremors”.
