"It Had to Be You" Baritone Ukulele Jazz Tutorial + Play-Along (Easy/Intermediate)

Музыка

The other day, I shared a cover of "It Had to Be You" by Isham Jones and Gus Kahn. Today, I'm pleased to share a full tutorial for my version of the song! In this video, I'm playing my Lanikai acacia baritone ukulele. Don't forget that you can click the gear icon and change "playback speed" to slow down any portion of the video!

Dear Abigail, Today I order my first ukulele baritone (Ortega RU5CE-BA) and the more I watch your videos the more I can't wait to be delivered. I guess around two more weeks and then full action. I come from the niche of Cigar Box Guitars which I craft them and play them too but now I want to progress and learn something different. Hope you have time to do more baritone videos and wish you a pleasant 2o23 from your new fan, donfredu ✌️🤠👍

This is great! I just got a baritone ukulele and I love it. I play cello and piano but it's so nice to be able to take it anywhere and sing along. I'm picking up chords quickly but this tutorial makes me feel like I can already play something really beautiful!

Love your tutorial! What strings do you use? Do you recommend using …using steel for the 3rd and 4th string and the rest nylon? My Lanikai came with that combo..

Oooh great question! Unfortunately I’m out of town without my uke so I can’t give as much of an answer as I’d like to… BUT some to try: you could try 4455 (this is an adaptation of a guitar D6/9, but does not include the root when we do it on bari). You could also try a plain old D6, which can be played 0202 or 7777. I’ll think more on it and try to come up with a better answer when I’m back with my uke!
